Yep. My life changed completely once I figured out how mentally draining mess and dirt was! I now put much more effort into preventing mess too. Everything has its place, I don't buy stuff I don't need. The only thing I have too much of is stationery :D But it's all organised!

I have lived in my flat for many years my small storage cupboard is full of Christmas decorations, paint and rollers, spare tiles, plant pots, wood from projects, bulbs, backpacks, stepladders etc and the boiler, as I need access to it I clear a path once a month.. This month I pulled everything out and was so surprised when I saw the amount in the living room. It took me a few days to organise and categories I have piles to donate when they open. The items are back in but they are not Pinterest worthy. Now that I can see the floor

In Sweden every apartment has a storage unit either in the attic or basement, and that’s is we’re all you bulky and seasonal items go. Never realised that is not the case everywhere 😳
@antiantipoda

I saw that in the US, but here in Brazil you never have that. Season change is usually minimal for most of Brazil - not where I grew up in the South, but we just put our winter or summer clothes in bags and stored them in the wardrobe, where the suitcases were meant to be.

Wearing shoes inside always boggles my mind! My family has always lived in Iowa and growing up we never wore shoes inside because mom said it was gross (way to go mom!) with what you can track in on your shoes - but pretty much every other house I go to when I start to take my shoes off they wonder “why” and it seems so crazy to keep them on!

They always say you need to break eggs to make an omelette. There is no better way to really appreciate how much stuff we've accumulated unless we bring it all out and confront it. It's not pretty but it gives us a jolt of realisation. And, as April says, you've just got to go through it. All of these videos have inspired me to continue decluttering my home. Thank you ❤

TSD has inspired me to start decluttering and organizing my home, and she has also inspired me to use what I have. What I have right now is some larger Amazon boxes, so that is what I am using to organize the top shelves in my closet! And they fit PERFECTLY on those shelves like they were designed for them, and even though it's cardboard boxes, it still looks neater than a bunch of clothes piled up on the shelves. I don't know if I would have thought of using them if I had not started watching this channel.

That was so unbelievably satisfying seeing that stroller finally go in fully! I'd rather functional storage rather than aesthetic closets that don't actually store anything! And yeah I don't understand how anyone could walk into their home with shoes on. I'm Asian and that would never ever happen in our houses.

I was raised in rural America by American parents and we never wore shoes in the house. The only exception was guests. My mom would not ask a guest to remove their shoes but many people saw us removing ours and just follow suit as a courtesy. I have friends who grew up the same way. I think it's a case by case basis in the USA.

Your videos are so relatable, entertaining and motivating. I stumbled across one of your most recent videos yesterday due to algorithm randomness. I watched for a few minutes then spoke with my partner about how I like your methods of helping people help themselves. He asked me, "well is there anything you've been wanting to declutter?" and before I knew it, we were up and organizing like mad. What she said is true, once it's organized it also frees up that space in your head that's been thinking about it all that time. I said the exact same thing to my boyfriend when we were done.

We lived in Japan for three years and got in the habit of always taking off our shoes when entering a home. Unfortunately over the years, here in the U.S., my husband won't do it anymore. Mainly because of my husband's age and arthritis, as he can't bend over to take off and put on his shoes. I have managed to MAKE him and HELP him take off his shoes when they are muddy, but he still sneaks in when I don't catch him.

Shoe wearing in the house is not sanitary. When cats use a litter box and then jump on the kitchen counters after scratching their poop and pee around in their litter box is extremely unsanitary.

Lol @ my spotlight comment. We LOVE Izzy and love hearing her 😻 I’m excited to watch this! Looks amazing! Great job on the closets. Also I’m laughing about the shoe thing. I always ask people who enter our home to please take off their shoes and leave them on our shoe rack. I know it’s kind of weird being in the USA, but it’s my preference to avoid dirt and junk being tracked in! I live in socks around the apartment. I also always ask people if they prefer our shoes being off when we go to their home and most don’t care.
