Awesome ! Your video is a historical document. Thanks for the upload and what a shame there getting rid of the Barnes and Nobles. Had a lot of memories there aswell.

Thank you for filming this! Do you think Dillard's would ever expand into the Chicago suburbs? I think this would have made a nice department store. I know Von Maur is still expanding too.

I’ve seen that during my last visit a couple of weeks ago.this is doesn’t get any easier.I hope there are plans for development.as beautiful as this store is it never really had the foot traffic.that’s the sad part.on the other side you also notice the former lord and Taylor that was also renovated before it closed.there are so many possibilities here.I won’t mention the current trend housing.maybe Von Maur or an opportunity for some kind of greenspace or a music and comedy venue.the good news is Old Orchard is prime while down the edens Northbrook Court is past its prime.it’s too bad they can’t try to lure Neumann Marcus to fill in the Lord and Taylor.it would be a much smaller store then Northbrook Court.there court is in recess and it’s being held in contempt.lol.best wishes to and for Old Orchard May it “ bear “ “ new fruit”.

I guess it isn’t too surprising given parent company Macys is also going smaller format footprints, but I do think it’s rather shrewd of them. Especially with higher end strip malls, how big of a coup could it be for them to land a Macy’s or (Yeah, I hate the branding too) Bloomies?

They don’t seem to get by removing themselves as an anchor store they’re bringing business down for the entire mall. Therefore killing their future business in their mini location.

That is a lot of walking around. Now I can see why online shopping is so much easier and a big time saver.

Then there was the ultra high-end department store chain Barney's, which dropped the apostrophe in the 1980's because it seemed low class. They went out of business a couple years ago.

Bloomingdales is more successful in New York City, its suburbs, south Florida and throughout various parts of California.
