Great review and very through. You pretty much covered everything . Thanks for explaining the programming process , I was having some difficulty with that. I have the MCH 2.0 HC and the Duty and the Chicro , very pleased with Cloud Defensive . At my range , all the instructors recommend Cloud and use their handhelds and weapon lights . Thanks again

I juat found your channel yesterday from your Fenix PD32 V2 video (which is kind of a "budget" version of the MCH-EDC light) similar lumen and candela, but i think the MCH still has more raw power in terms of actual "beam". Different UI and such, but similar output levels and similarly simple. I love what ive seen of your channel so far and from an american I'd like to offer an official "howdy" and let you know youve snagged another subscriber.

Objectively this is one of the worst choices in the premium flashlight category. This light never meets advertised outputs and loses output from the start very quickly. I personally have tested an MCH and experienced an 80%+ drop in output from startup to 5 min. I used a calibrated lumen tube and a calibrated lux meter measured at ANSI/PLATO FL1 specified distances. My results mirror Shan Hemphills from lowlightdefense/ Werkz holsters as well as UL's. Want a quality light that meets advertised output, look at the Malkoff MDC Pocket thrower. Uses an E2XTL head. Experienced a nominal loss of 4% from start to 15min.

FINALLY! Been waiting a long time for someone to bring out a light with this much candela in a lightweight 18650 with momentary, while also having good access to lower modes. The fact that they offer it in a warmer beam that still has 40,000 candela is freaking awesome. This seems to be the great mix between edc and tactical I've been looking for. The only thing I can think of that would improve it would be a moonlight mode at about 1 lumen or so. Oh... and the price. Gonna be a while till I can afford one.

@@flashlightcrazy Do you think the hotspot might be a bit small to reliably and accurately aim into someones eyes? Hard to tell in the video

@@quantametric Not at all. The hotspot from 1.5 meters away is twice the size of the average human head. It is brilliant

@@quantametricunfortunately I don't think a moonlight mode is in the cards from cloud defensive (I could be wrong though) The MCH is basically a handheld version of their Rein series of weaponlight. That's the reason for it having such a focused hotspot, it was originally made to mount on a rifle to identify targets at night. That is also the reason the light is built to be as durable as it is, and I can attest to the durability (at least the durability of the Rein which is what this light was born from) (For reference I'm American) with the Rein mounted on my rifle I can positively ID targets at over 300m at night, not only can I tell that I'm looking at a "threat", I can tell what's in their hands at that distance, in the dark, with a magnified optic (magnified optics suffer greatly from low light transmission so you have to push a LOT of light for target ID at distance). This was designed for police and similar use cases where they might need to not only illuminate a target or threat, but the threat might be backlit by headlights or something which necessitates a high candela to push through the "opposing" light. It can be a great enthusiast light also, but only if the enthusiast wants what this type of light offers, it's pretty niche, it's designed specifically for self defense and law enforcement style use and not much else. If you like it it's absolutely amazing, but it's not a super flexible 5+ mode light and it was never meant to be.

Well after over a month of waiting for them to ship me mine, it finally arrived today. I had to come back to this video to program the darn thing as their short on programing was not clicking with me. Hopefully this weekend I will get to use it some and compare it to my favorite Malkoff M61 HOT.

Will be a cool comparison. More throw on the Cloud but the M61 HOT is more than enough for medium distance jobs

But the price..... I mean, you have to pay 3 times more just for the brand markup and the "made in USA"logo. The performance is not as impressive as weltool, I'm not commenting on the finish, but is it truly in the extraordinary tier for that price?
@flashlightcrazy

At least, on the first non programmable model, it uses an Osram W2. Which is my favorite throw LED

When you were out testing this, did you notice it stepping down before 30 seconds or before 60 seconds had elapsed while it was on highest mode? This is the dual fuel?

@@flashlightcrazy By the way, there's no way the light can produce 80,000 candela from 1100 lumens with the 18650, then produce 70,000 candela from just 400 lumens with the 2xCR123a. That's just not possible.
@flashlightcrazy

Well, that is the specs that Cloud Defensive gives. You should contact them and tell them what you think. I also have my doubts about what they say their lights can do@@FalconFXICCY
