All the Dirty Flowers As I look back I see all the flaws, but those of today are harder to see. Close to this moment with so much going on It can be a struggle just seeing me. I know that I'm still messing up and will for as long as I live. Is it any wonder anxiety rates are so high when our world is conditioned not to forgive? There's no way we could ever be perfect, especially if you bring forth our past. We must learn to grow out of the dirt, but now it's a weapon and we'll bury you fast. But how could I have grown without it? I've been covered in it since before birth. We don't choose our personality or traits. We don't choose to be planted in the dirt. All we can do is try to notice and grow, unfortunately at times via pain in another. Seeing that our dirt gets on each other can lead to growing from under this cover. We all have our layers of dirt we're like a seed planted deeply below. The world may feel dark from this level, but there's a light calling us each to grow. As we sprout we're still dirty and struggling. Some see us and hate that we're unclean. Should we have stayed buried forever? Avoid growth to make sure dirt isn't seen? We're playing a game of pretend perfection, but everyone's dirty and stained. Your only a flower after you've risen up and only look clean because of the rain. It's only because you grew into the light, that the dirt was shown on your flesh. Climbing out doesn't take it all away, But it's a step forward in our test. Why do we wish to keep each other buried? Does dirt mean you deserve to stay down? If not for allowing each other to grow there would be no flowers around. You're dirty and I can see that it spreads. I'm conditioned not to consider your plight, But in my heart I know I came from dirt too, so I choose to offer you light. I don't want to see you buried again. You're just dirty from being buried before. Rain can wash away what still weighs on you As I stop throwing dirt I see a beautiful core. You were always a flower, I just didn't see, that under the dirt you are just like me. It is hard to sprout from a buried seed; We keep throwing dirt, it's water we need. How can you evolve in a world that impedes, because you're imperfect treated as a weed. I have a crooked stem and few petals, But a lot of leaves to receive the light. I'm still stained from the dirt of my process, which sometimes keeps me up at night. At times I've tried to see myself as cleaner by focusing on the dirt of others around. I've promoted the cycle of judgement That keeps my own dirt weighing me down. I've attacked the petals of others because of my own insecurities. None of this helped my own petals grow, Just a bit more alone with my uncertainties. It took me a while to see you under it all. The dark of the dirt and the light of the sun. The flower was always in the seed. We were beautiful before it ever begun. But I could only see the dirt that stained me since the world says "unworthy if flawed". So we throw dirt to look better in comparison, yet grace is the way for a heart to be thawed. We become colder as we take away love for one reason or another. We forget that we're all growing together, connected to one source we call the mother. As we get colder we disconnect from grace, which comes from our innermost part. Our garden of flowers is trampled to dust under the weight of all our judging hearts.
