If any cast or crew members read this, I want you to know that the original Clue VCR video was MY original Clue movie growing up. I didn't see the big screen one with all the famous actors until years later. But I watched this over and over again with my sisters in the late 80s and early 90s. We actually even played a few times, but it was complicated and not suited for our young, short attention spans! You all have a special place in my heart and I am so glad the original video is up on KZitem for me to watch. Thank you all!

Mrs. White (the maid timing the roast) would have had the white white wine. She's "color blind" and can't actually tell what color the white wine is. This is also why she wears mis-matched shoes and has monochromatic clothes choices. On a related note, UB40 prefers red red wine.

It is interesting to note that with a few exceptions, there isn't too much of a mention of the secrets from this episode in the second installment of clue. In Clue 2: Murder in Disguise, Brunette and Peach act more like they are lovers than father and daughter. There is no mention at all about Mrs. White being Sgt. Gray's mother, or even Sgt. Gray being Mme. Rose's nephew. Also, Plum and Green seem to get along a lot better in the second one, and Mustard seems to work for Scarlett. There is absolutely no mention whatsoever about Mrs. Peacock being a thief or killing off her husbands in number 2. It is more of a comedy than this one was. In number 2, they all seem to get along better.

Another thing I noticed. When it cuts to the scene of them in the conservatory, when M. Brunette is about to read the will, Mr. Green is reading Mrs. White's diary. Mrs. White is asleep next to him and when she gets up, her diary is on Mr. Green's lap, right next to her. It is a wonder she didn't see him with it then, instead of asking who stole it.

@calanon534
7 жыл бұрын
Resolution? You mean John Body's death? Well, let's see who the suspects are. Let's start with the ones that couldn't have done it: Mrs. Rose - Not a suspect. While "Spectral Evidence" has been inadmissible in courts in the United States since before 1700, she proved that she can, indeed, contact spirits (or so it appears). Why would she try to contact her brother to find his killer, knowing that she can actually do it, if she, herself, did it? Sgt. Grey - Not a suspect. He was in a mental asylum at the time. Ms. Peach - Not a suspect. Not involved with the swindle at the time of Body's death, and her appearance was a mystery to Mrs. White (who seemed also to serve as Body's secretary, and keeper of secrets), and, crucially, Didit, who's a neutral party. Now, the ones who "likely didn't" do it, for various reasons. Col. Mustard - He inherited the Mustard family fortune after his brother's death and showed no signs of excessive greed. While Body did know (but could not prove) that he murdered Reggie in Sumatra, and knew that Mustard was a spy at the time, Mustard is retired and seems to have no immediate need for money. He just wants to be a spy again. He has no Motive for killing Body, and the Modus Operandi of the killing doesn't fit. Mrs. White - They were very close, having an affair, had a love child, and so on. Unless Body suddenly decided to fire her (Rose does not indicate any hint of this, and she'd be likely to know) or end their relationship otherwise (no indication - in fact, the opposite, she acts like a grieving widow), she would have no Motive to kill Body, and additionally, seems to be the only one without a criminal past. At the very least, not a violent one. Miss Scarlet - She's a spy, possibly an assassin, but one with a basic code of conduct (if not, her superior skill and youth would allow her to murder everyone in the mansion, if she was motivated to do so). The only reason she'd have to kill Body is if he threatened to go to the authorities to expose her espionage. However, were that the case, why not kill Mrs. White as well, at the same time, and take her diary? Mrs. Peacock - She kills husbands, not friends, and Mr. Body knew this. Otherwise he would have distanced himself from her, purely out of self-preservation. No Motive, wrong Modus Operandi. Now, the juicy parts - the ones with real Motive! Prof. Plum - He murdered Body's daughter, and fairly recently. Body may have confronted him about it, as a Gentleman is wont to do if they were raised in that era (up until about 1970) and possibly offered him a chance to commit suicide instead of standing trial. That, or exact revenge for his daughter and kill Plum himself. Motive: Staying out of jail and/or staying alive. Mr. Lyman Green - He's a mobster. He may have threatened to expose Green having stole money from the Mob, before that became public knowledge. That, or a business venture between them went horribly wrong and cost Body money - money he felt Green may have morally "owed" him. This is a stretch, however, and Green is the "least of the most" likely suspects. Motive: Same as Plum's. M. Brunette - The MOST likely suspect. Look at his reaction to the first will. Look at his reaction to the second. Look at the con game he and Peach were running. He KNEW the second will would allow him to seize Body's fortune, with a little con artistry to have Peach impersonate Body's mystery child - a plan they had already agreed on long before the weekend started. Motive: Greed. This is all based on everything seen being taken at face value and without any off-the-wall, not-seen-on-screen facts (like, the Butler being the murderer for no apparent reason). Draw your own conclusions.
