Just took my 07 4Runner in for an oil change and asked about getting this done since I've been having the clunk. The service tech told me they would have to diagnose the problem for $160/hour first. I told him I knew what the problem is and it just needs grease. He told me he's never heard of this and that the grease is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. I then asked why it has a port for adding grease if that was true. Anyway, guess I'll be doing this myself. I hate dealerships!

Hey Christopher, thanks for the feedback! Yeah it doesn’t hurt to do this either way. Hopefully it works for you. I would lift it off the ground if you can; doing it under pressure might not work well and you won’t be able to rotate to access the zerks. Let me know how it goes.

@rywanders
16 күн бұрын
🤔 sounds like maybe you over greased? If it’s not able to flex it can be damaging and may be the result of the noise. You can remove the zerk to allow the grease to flow out to relieve the pressure. Warning this will be messy . If you’re not comfortable with doing this take it to a shop.
