This is excellent! I had to repeat a lot of those minor exercises, but that's where I really need help. That and the Zippe Pattern plus transitioning from la to re and vice versa.

Hello Mr. Austin, I just want to thank you for sharing some of your knowledge and also for making it comprehensible for newbies as I am ( 1.5yrs playing flute and guitar). Recently I learned that sing solfege is an effective way to awake consciousness in music - sound world, I think it requires lot of commitment to get near of that sense. Thank you for helping me in that process.

This is brilliant. Must admit, I had not realised that some of the intervals change from major to minor on the descending scale. I need to look into this a bit deeper. But meanwhile, the singing exercises are great.

"Me" is pronounced "may" and is "Mi" flatted by a half step. If Do is C then Mi is E and Me is Eb. So the C major chord has Mi but the C minor chord has Me.

What chords do you use when you're harmonizing the scales?.. (in the stepwise upwards & down) Sounds really good
@mr.austin4501

I tend to make them more interesting and also use inversions of chords. C, G, C/E, F, C, F (amin), G7, C (amin deceptive)

I don't know why the notes don't match. I mean the space right under the treble clef is read as a "C" instead of an "A".
@heatheralice1974

A is 2 ledger lines below the staff, not the space right under it. The space right under it is D. The C has a line through it; it's not a space.

This is a very helpful video, thanks! But I had a question. At about 2:20 the bouncing scale exercise, it sounds like low Do is the middle C, but is on the staff at F? I am a newby, is there something I am missing?

HI, Please try to correct the 2 sd picture !!! it is ( fa fa ) and not ( do do ) . . . etc . because the beginners will get wrong notes. I hope you will change it . . . Merci

This video uses "movable do", where do is used to refer to the tonic of whatever the current key is. This makes more sense if you're used to referring to the notes by letters, but is probably confusing if you have learned that c is called do.
@mr.austin4501

@mr.austin4501

Singing these intervals helps to strengthen your overall sense of relative pitch. That is, how notes relate to one another. This particular pattern of notes covers the primary chords in major and minor keys found in thousands of pop music, i. e. I (i), IV (iv) and v (V). Hope this helps! Happy practicing!
