Ever seen this one? Even after carefully calibrating the XYZ axes my 3018-PROVer and using the Z-probe on every setup, it consistently cuts between 2mm and 3mm deeper than what is called out (using an end mill with a 1/8" shank - the goal is to get a cut 1mm deep in 3mm stock but no luck). Everything else seems to be working accurately across multiple test files in VCarve Pro 10.5, UGS, and Candle but they all produce much deeper cuts than what I'm instructing the CNC make. Cheers

Just got 3018 PROVer and I need to mill out holes in 2.5mm anodized aluminium 19in rack front panels. From research I realised that the stock spindle is unlikely to be up to the job so ordered the 775M 20k RPM spindle too but am now thinking of sending it back as I don't think it will cope either. I will probably have to go for a 52mm spindle (300/400/500W) and so would want the aluminium Z-axis replacement featured (don't want the hassle of 3D printing my own and need the stiffness) but according to the link you provide (ie. The Sainsmart website) it doesn't ship to the UK. I realise Sainsmart sent yours specially for review but how do us "ordinary people" get one? I don't need the bigger working area or the leap in price of a bigger machine just to get a spindle that can cope with aluminium.
@techydiy

I guess it's out of stock, mine came some time ago. Have you looked on Amazon?. The stock spindle will cut aluminium, you just need to keep the depth of cut low (0.1mm). Probing a height map also helps.

Amazon doesn't even list it as far as I can see. The website says it will ship to the USA and Canada so I doubt it is out of stock - it's just not available to ship to the UK or Europe. Do you have any contacts in Sainsmart who can explain this issue?

@@spacedock873 No I don't. I believe they operate seperate warehouses for the US, Canada, UK and Europe, each of which holds different stock levels They don't ship from a Central location and if you happen to live outside of those areas you can't buy the product (I have read several comments from Australians complaining). Whenever I have ordered something directly it has been delivered by Amazon, so they might be using their drop ship services. As far as I can see they are out of stock in the UK and European warehouses. My only suggestion is to email them and ask when it will be back in stock.

It is possible to connect some spindle power supplies to the control pcb to allow speed control. It depends on where you get the spindle. The spindle power supply that I used is pretty difficult to connect due to high voltages. The Sainsmart one is probably easier. Someone made a video about it. Personally I don't think having program speed control is worth the effort with a 12k spindle.

Com port working ok. Stop button released. Select com port in candle. Reset / unlock before doing anything. Any messages in the console.
