This one video has saved me a ton of time. Alex, like you I built my own CNC machine and had limit/home switches. Using Ref All Home, ran it for years and simply kept a post-it note with my offsets. Any time I needed to get back to my offset then I'd switch to the MDI screen and manually type in the offsets to get me back home (with all of the inaccuracies THAT can entail). Your video made sense of what appears to be a complex subject. Milling is fun again! Thanks again for posting this :)

I am getting ready to start making a disk and needed to find the center of all the disks so this is a great video to help me understand how to start setting this up. Thanks

Sorry I have been too busy using the machine and I don't check my KZitem comments that often. The router spindle is a 3kw air cooled chinese spindle ran by a 7.5HP Hitachi VFD. Keep in mind if you are running single phase you MUST derate the VFD by 50%.

Do you still need to find Z0? I am assuming the router bit cannot be put in exactly the same depth each time?

Can't remember exactly what menu it is under, but it is pretty easy to find. A quick google search should give you the answer you need. I am not in front of Mach3 or I would tell you. It is a simple numerical field you just enter the values in. Just don't use your Go To Z command until you are sure you know where your machine will go. Alex

IF there a way to home (machine home) all axis whilst you have an offset or fixture implemented. With my attempts to do i it just homes to the offset, alas i am a CnC noob and don't know if i can force a machine home whilst in a fixture

I don't see any responses to the comments in this video. This is a little disheartening. I am REALLY INTERESTED in your experience with the router spindle shown in the video
