@CNET: You should do another update on this car! Because since this video has come out, Tesla has solved or added almost all of the things you wanted: AWD, AutoPilot / driving assists, 4G LTE, backup indicators, longer range (90D is 290 miles), and a LOT more Superchargers. Everything except, well, price.

I rode in a brand new Tesla a few weeks ago, and that ride has confirmed that it is literally the best car in the world. I was in the middle trim one. 4 Wheel drive (thanks to two motors), and the power delivery is just jaw dropping. I had to remind myself that there is a Tesla with 2.8 second 0-60 (the one I was in was 4 seconds) and that kind of frightens me.

Turn-by-turn navigation is now a standard feature. The backup camera now shows a predictive driving path when you turn the wheel. An all-wheel drive version is available. Additional battery capacity models are available up to 100 kWh. It now has collision avoidance and cruise control standard. Optional driver assistance features included autopark, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. Park sensors are now standard. The base model S 60 has a list price of $66,000 before a $7,500 federal tax credit.

Nice rides in the UK include the highlands via the sparsely populated Scottish highlands and the Belfast to Cork run along the heavily charger populated roads. Apparently Wales has a number of great electric highway runs too! Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf are both great 5 door hatchbacks with 90+ miles of range that mean you can drive for an hour or so, take a break of about 20-30 minutes and charge, and then roll on. Driving in what's known as a suburban range electric even though rural country is relaxing as hell, great when you get to your destination in a fit state to go out immediately!

In eastern Europe, here in Estonia, if something happens with your car because of the bad condition of the road, you can present your bill from the repair shop and get the money back it went for the repairs from the municipality that is responsible of that roads condition(usually the municipality where the road is, for highways it's the national road Authority).

With the airless tires, I love the idea, but it may not be ideal for everyone. A slightly-under inflated tire can give you better grip in loose soil, and even crawling through snow..and they get under-inflated naturally at lower temperatures. However, these "tires" with plastic spokes will likely not only not deflate slightly (due to air condensing at lower temperatures), but the plastic would likely get stiffer/less flexible at colder temperatures, as well. I don't necessarily think it's make-or-break, and the technology is so new for road cars that I'm sure there will be advances, as well as owners just needing to re-learn how a car handles in certain situations like they did when disc brakes were released, or run flats, etc.

In Norway there's a lot more incentive for purchasing one of these. Combustion engine cars and fuel is heavily taxed. (I mean really, really heavily taxed.) There are tax cuts, dedicated lanes and free parking for EV's (though it's uncertain how long that'll last.) Electricity is also renewable here, hydroelectric dams being responsible for around 96% of the nations electric power. This means the Tesla is truly environmentally friendly here. All of the reasons stated above, as well as a few more (namely winter performance, high wages, availability of EV chargers as well as superchargers and a popular presence in the media) means the Tesla has in multiple occasions become the top selling car brand for months and quarterlies, along with the Nissan Leaf.

I was on a little road trip this weekend and I saw one of these bad boys on the road, twice! The first time the car was pulled over and the driver was on the phone, just goes to show how safety conscious these Tesla drivers are. I took a break and ate some lunch and it must have passed me because the next time I saw it it was riding on top of a flat bed, cruising the highway in style! If I owned a beauty like that I wouldn't let it go to waste driving around normally either. My friend keeps telling me the dude just ran out of battery and called for a tow, but I don't believe him.

Tesla is my dream car. It's only flaws are the lack of some high in features (Ex. Lane departure warning), and speed of charge compared to gasoline cars. If I were to purschase a Model s I'd install the home station (Just makes sense.) I don't drive far normally, so charging while at home overnight cures that problem. Distance trips take some planning but the range on the car is decent enough to handle....Most public places now are adding EV stations so its becoming easier to stick with electric cars. Some people are afraid of change, or just simply content with the norm (Which there is nothing wrong with that.) Or the Tesla just isn't for them but that can be said about a lot of vehicles. Tesla works perfect for me....well it would if I had one. One day...one day

Every review fails to highlight the benefits of plug in charging. I get home in the evening, plug it, unplug and leave in the morning. No stopping at, trips to gas stations. Charging is settable, programmed to start midnight. My daily consumption recharges in about two hours - while I sleep. Noooooooo waiting!!! Owners don't refuel their cars filling them daily from half to 3/4 full. Plugging the Tesla at home is sooooo convenient, I plug it daily and charge it from 65% to 85% (220 mile range to 280 mile range). For city driving, unbeatable. For most of us, long trips are less frequent. With today's extensive supercharger network, Tesla's are driven cross country. - and of course the latest models do have dual motors (all wheel drive), adaptive cruise, auto steer, parking sensors, guiding lines in rear view and more options available. The acceleration, driving pleasure is tops. For me, home charging and ability to use the carpool (HOV) lane are most awesome.

Don't F1 cars refill often in a race? How are they going to recharge the battery quick enough if their vehicles are completely electric? Sure they can swap the battery but that would still take a lot longer than just filling a car with gas, I'm assuming.
