This is 1 of 25 to several brand new McNeilus HD(Heavy Duty Series) Rear Loaders on custom Mack MRU613 chassis ordered for Waste Management for Sarasota County where I live! The new RELs are all powered by CNG(compressed natural gas) engines & they've been servicing residential curbside collection of mainly trash, yardwaste & some bulk stops in certain areas. All these CNG powered RELs have completely replaced all the old RELs which are the Tag Axle series McNeiluses on Mack LE613s & Autocar versions, the 25 yard & the 30yard McNeilus Standard series versions, esp the old 25 & 30 yard Leach 2R2s as well I've recently caught a few years ago! In addtion, all of the 2009 McNeilus Standard Series RELs on diesel powered Mack MRU613s Ive recently caught, they have replaced as well too. Some of these old RELs from what I herd & saw are at another Waste Management division serving Manatee County. Dont know what happened to the old Leach 2R2s.....
In addition, these CNG RELs all have McNeilus's own carttippers now cause there're alot of residents that have the carts they bought on their own & some they ordered from Waste Management, including Siesta Key I have recently filmed. In addition, the town chose to order more traditional Rear Load trucks cauz the surburban part of Sarasota County has a lot of curbside setouts of extra trash in most areas where they need them all to be picked up all at once, but grapple bulk trucks still operate on the bulk routes here too.
Normally powered by Mack's own 300hp MP7-325M & a series of different engine hp ratings from Mack's MP7 & MP8, these new MRU613s have a special order of Cummins Westport ISL G CNG engines backed by Allison's 4500 RDS 6 speed auto gearboxes with a transmission retarder driving back to 46k Meritor RT-46 tandem rear axles on Hendrikson's Primaxx 4bag airride suspension. So even though this Mack MRU chassis has lost most of its own driveline components, the CNG versions now have a nice sinister sound to the Macks & I feel it should be the proper way on how a Rear Load packing garbage truck should sound! But im still gonna miss the loud grunt sound of the Mack E-Tech 7 diesels powering the popular Mack MR688S!!!! But that's something I'm gonna have to get use to now........
BTW, there will be more footage of trucks on the way, so stay tune for a while!!!!!
