Every few years, I come back and listen to all these old stories about Bear Bryant. I wish there was just one full video of it.

I understand Bear Bryant and Vince Lombardi were great admirers of one another

After one of his Super Bowl wins, Lombardi was asked what's it like being the best in football and Vince said I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet. I think he was joking but a little bit serious.

A tough love, great, caring man, that wanted the best for his boys as if they were his own son.

Dealing with 18 year old punk athlete’s is defiantly a skill. Reminds me of Oh Well….. Me
God bless all.....Still remember Coach Bryant's look after his last game. You could almost see sadness. Every body is human. I wasn't there but as corny as this sounds 'everybody needs a hug'. We all need love. Something he did for so long was then gone......He was a great one

Are there any coaches like that now? In any sport? In today's society, I wonder if Coach Bryant would be accepted by a college administration. Same for Woody Hayes and some others.

Darryl Royal ran a pretty tough program. Woody Hayes. Lots of coaches who were great in that era could not coach in today’s “woke” climate. Lombardi couldn’t. Shula with 4-a-days in the Miami summer his first year?

I always wondered about how John McKay and Parseghian ran their shows. Great coaches but such different personalities from Bryant. (Bobby Dodd, too.)

Bryant manipulated him. Bryant was trying to keep one of his starters. If you don’t believe that then why did he call his Daddy? Vaught at Ole Miss did the same thing. None of that would work today.
