My first comment didn't post so I will try again I think you did something VERY IMPORTANT in this video and that was to teach instead of preach, about not doing something. So many people are quick to say to children DON'T instead of teaching about what it is, how to respect it and use it properly and the reasons it could be dangerous if not used properly. Today it was you teaching James about fire and I love it. Your method can be used for many things people (mostly parents and teachers) preach don't too. Weather it is gun safety and proper use, motorized vehicles, fireworks and other things that go boom, hunting, fishing, foraging and use of non-populated areas (woods/water/rolling plains/mountains/...) and the respect those areas should be shown when visiting them. To often people (mostly those with little or no knowledge of the things in question) tend to tell children DON'T touch or do that instead of explaining why and in appropriate settings letting them experience some of those things, to certain levels. Obviously discretion would need to be used in some circumstances but your never to young to start learning and in most cases experience is the best teacher.

I got taught how to build fires in the Cubs when I was young, no harm at all. Never went off and burnt down houses or caused issues. You learn to respect and how to build, control and remove the fire when done. I think it's an essential skill that is getting lost and the PC brigade are stripping these skills from the young. So good to see you pass on as many skills as possible to the young one, IMHO it's the best thing for a Farther to do. Good on you. Also I think it's important to teach them where food comes from and to respect the animals and take only whats needed and to allow the next generation to thrive so you can continue a sustainable way of life.I think this is a fantastic channel, keep it up!

Hi John, just wondering if you might share how you dispach lobsters - always been a bit wary of how people kill crustaceans in boiling water and wondered if you had any insights on a more ethical technique?

Simple answer is no. Too many people are too quick to get offended. You’re better googling it and choosing the method of your choice. I have shown several methods in several videos in the past.

@@TheFishLocker Fair play mate, no bother at all! Thanks for the reply anyhow. I have googled but will have to keep watching vids till I find you talking about it, cause I trust your take on things more than a random google article - you've got a respect for nature and a head on your shoulders. Good thing your vids are good watching! Keep it up :)
