Haha. Filming discipline went totally out of the window once we found them. Even forgot that a shellfish boil requires more than hot water 😅

How about try to boil your clams in a cup of water with sprite, ginger peppercorn and chili leaves if there is no available chili leaves any chili would do and a dash of salt.

We found chilli leaves in the shop today! We'll definitely try. I'd read about sprite being used in kinilaw, so it sounds interesting. Thanks! In the UK we cook ham in Coca-Cola

I’m not sure if they exist in the Philippines. It’s my first time catching it here in the UK. Maybe they don’t survive in tropical waters. That I will google! 😄

Ha! I'm not going to lie, I'm a heathen. Fish tastes like fish, shellfish tastes like shellfish 😂 they're all different for sure, but I've never learnt enough words to describe it. It's like steak.. Ribeye is different to rump, but it's all steak 🤤

You may not have razor clams but we visited the Dampa market in Manilla last July and you have amazing clams! These razor clams were from South Wales.

Do the clams live in bays?
@TheInflatableChef
Жыл бұрын
We're not the people to be asking haha. From our limited experience though, fairly quiet sandy bays, enough waves to bring the nutrients in, but not strong enough to dislodge them from their holes. They seem to live deeper down in the more silty layers as opposed to the coarse upper layer of sand. I found that when digging for them, I would know I was there once water began pooling at the bottom of the hole. And then promptly slice my finger tips open!

@@TheInflatableChef Thanks for the detail! Sounds like you're learning but love your attention to detail! I normally find my clams in bays but I couldn't tell in this video!
