I just installed this pipe on my 23 WRX. I went through the top of the car, no need to get underneath the car. Just remove remove the fan (easy 2 bolts).

This video helped me a lot, I spent more time dealing with the splash guard than with the intake itself lol thank you

thanks for the tutorial! I actually was too lazy going from bottom with all those pop clips and went from top instead.

is there a particular reason why you chose Cobb out of all the intakes available? also can you hear induction sounds with this setup?

Main reason I chose COBB's intake, primarily, was to get the most power out of my WRX using the most economical route. In this case, I chose to get COBB's entire Stage 2 package, so I could get their OTS Stage 2 tuning for "free" basically. Total cost was under $2400 for the access port, air filter, intake, charge pipe, and intercooler. Had I chosen another brand's intake pipe, then I would have been forced to get a pro-tune at that point, which would cost more money. 2nd reason is that all of COBB's parts are CARB certified, making it great for people who live in States like California or New York, as it can pass emissions without needing to remove any of the components, and add to its resale value. As for as induction noise goes, although I can't say if there is much difference with just the intake pipe itself, with the intake pipe + charge pipe + intercooler, it is definitely much louder than stock! The turbo spooling can be heard a bit more, and the blowout valve is noticeably louder when letting off boost, although that's probably due to the higher PSI haha.

I might be taking this route for the same reasons. I don’t own a Cobb AP yet, but do you know if it comes with the stage 2 mapping for CVT? Also do you have any video on how it sounds?

Thanks for fhe video, have this on order. Hows it sound?

Sounds a bit more louder on its own. If you were to combine it with the large charge pipe and supercharger, then the induction sound is much louder than stock,!

It definitely does. Sounds louder than before, especially the turbo spooling. The blowout valve also sounds louder after shifting from high boost!

Everybody wants to put a cold air intake on their car but truth be told aftermarket intakes cause turbulent air which shakes the shaft of your impeller. Thats what those little circle spots on your stock intake pipe prevent. Unless you have a tune it's kind of a pointless mod. Besides subaru has always been notorious for having the most efficient intakes of any make from the factory. I could understand if you had a bigger turbo. Just my opinion.
