Great product Cobra - I was a little worried about the idea of not predrilling but gave it a shot and it worked like a charm. Didn’t notice the drill bit that was included until after I’d already used a screw driver, but no biggie. Thanks guys.

I recently bought a pack of Walldriller Plus (with #10 gauge screws with a stated weight limit of up to 175 lbs. on a drywall) A plastic anchor that supports 175 lbs.? I was curious and decided to give it a try. So I tested them on a piece of sample drywall I use for testing new fasteners. Sadly, none of the Walldriller plus worked. The blue part didn't even open up when I tightened the screws all the way in. This was disappointing because I like other Cobra products such as TripleGrip plastic anchors.

If you have gotten these already and are watching this to see how to use them, stop. Go return them. It's not worth it. I ignored the other comments thinking I would be different. I'm not. Go return them and get something else. These do not work and you end up with 1/2 inch holes in your drywall that you'll now have to repair or hide behind whatever you were trying to hang up

Just tried using them to hang some cabinets. Bought the 205 lb weight anchor. The anchor screwed into the wall easily enough, but screwing in the screw turned the anchor. The blue part is supposed to expand and hold the anchor. It did nothing. Returning to the store. I used a good old fashioned toggle bolt anchor and had zero issues.

I believe the directions said when the screw is set against the bracket your mounting you turn 3-4 full turns to engage the blue wings fully. I’ve had no issues. We are sorry to read this. We can assure you that we have intensively tested the products before putting it on the market. We will evaluate the relevance of making a video of the real application testing. However, we would like to inform you that we have adjusted the installation guide to add the following: Once the screw is flush with the object surface, continue tightening 3 to 4 complete turns. In order to expand the legs, it is important to use the right anchor with the right drywall. Anchors #6 and #8 will work in 3/8'' and 1/2'' drywall. Anchors #10 and #12 will work in 1/2'' and 5/8'' drywall. Installation instructions: 5. Using a screwdriver, push the tip of the WallDriller PLUS into the drywall in a screwing motion. 6. Turn clockwise until flush with surface and firmly in place. 7. Insert the screw through the object you need to affix and turn clockwise until the head of the screw is flush with the object surface. 8. IMPORTANT: To activate expansion of the legs, continue tightening 3 to 4 complete turns.4

@@cobraanchors2476 What's the shelf life of your junk? The ones I got can't even make it into a substantial pilot hole, (that I supposedly don't even need to drill), before simply snapping off like 50 year old sun-baked plastic being worked in sub freezing temps. I'm curious to know if you used different material and/or manufacturing contractors who made sub-spec substitutions. I'm not the only one pissed who returned these. The guys in Menard's hardware wish they could quit putting them out because most of them get returned. People give them a hard time they don't deserve because Menard's stays with the poor choice of carrying rather than discontinuing these. The markup margins must be pretty damn good to continue selling a product with the expectation that some percentage of people will just throw them away rather than bother returning garbage products.

I bought a pack of 2 packs of 4, 205 lbs #12 filler plus. Is the weight per screw or does it require all 4 screws for the weight threshold of 205 lbs. I’m hanging a hammock and I’ll be using 2 packs. Does this equate to only 205 lbs, or does each pack (of 4) equal to 820 lbs. Thanks
@cobraanchors2476
2 жыл бұрын
4 anchors #12 will support 820lb IF and only if the fixture load is evenly distributed over the installed anchors. In addition, WallDriller PLUS loads are for static applications in gypsum. Hammock is a moving fixture. WallDriller PLUS is not the right product for this application. In order to guide you in choosing a safe anchoring option, we need more information regarding the material in which the hammock will be fixed. I am thoroughly disappointed by the 6 piece #10 WallDriller Plus I purchased at Home Depot to install a grab bar in drywall. I drilled 6 pilot holes to enable the anchors to enter the wall. The pictures on the package show the use of a screwdriver for inserting the anchors. After screwing in the anchors, I was unable to remove the screwdriver. I had to unscrew the anchors. As a result, I now have six 1/2-inch holes in the wall, and no confidence that the anchors will actually work and hold up when a handicapped person uses the bar for support. Hoping that my luck would change, I've read the instructions and watched your online videos in English and French to no avail. Afterwards, I read product reviews on KZitem which make me feel better about myself. I am not alone! There's nothing wrong with me, the product just doesn't' work! I can't believe such an easy-seeming solution would cause me an afternoon of frustration. What a waste of time, energy, and money. I'll return it at Home Depot. 🚫

Wow. Reading the comments I must be an extreme outlier. I bought these to hang my Milwaukee packout system and I did almost 20 of these and had no issues at all. I screwed them in by hand without a pilot hole, and kept turning the screw 3 or 4 revolutions like the instructions say. You feel it get tight and gummy, but it’ll never lock up solid like running a bolt down on metal or something. They seem to be holding just fine for me. Didn’t have any issues with breaking or the fastener spinning in the wall. I came here expecting great reviews but got the opposite. I wonder why so many people are having issues? Makes me want to make a video showing real world use.
@jimmyyounger618

Have you made that video? I'm also thinking of making a real world video showing how one after another of these simply snap and break off despite anything I've tried, including drilling larger and larger pilot holes to try to prevent the weak, brittle plastic from failing. In my comment, (below), I mention how the sales associate hates these because most of the ones they sell get returned for this very reason. Count yourself blessed to have gotten some from a materials or manufacturing contractor who didn't substitute sub-spec garbage, if that's the explanation for your satisfaction.

In order to expand the legs, it is important to use the right anchor with the right drywall. Anchors #6 and #8 will work in 3/8'' and 1/2'' drywall. Anchors #10 and #12 will work in 1/2'' and 5/8'' drywall. Also, it is very IMPORTANT: once the screw is flush with the object surface to continue tightening 3 to 4 complete turns. Installation instructions: 1. Using a screwdriver, push the tip of the WallDriller PLUS into the drywall in a screwing motion. 2. Turn clockwise until flush with surface and firmly in place. 3. Easily one of the worst products I've ever been ripped off for. Try after try - even increasing the pilot hole size for something that supposedly doesn't need a pilot hole. Snap! Snap! Snap! One after another and all they do is break off. I bought mine off the shelf in Menard's and returned to the hardware section to see if I could tell if I got old, brittle stock or something. "Doesn't appear so," says the sales associate. "I wish we'd quit selling these because returns of the unopened ones are a chore." This crap is infuriating when you live in a rural area and the fuel to return junk and buy something that works cost more than the product.
