Great review Andy. Have a set of the Forged Tec One length coming in this week. Have jumped in the deep end. 19 Hybrid, 4 utility, 5 through gap wedge, 52 (bent to 54), 56 (bent to 58). All shafted with Kinettix single length shafts. Looking forward to seeing how the FT22 perform.

I think blended sets are going to be a lot more common in the future. I put together one similar to what you showed in a recent video about the most forgiving clubs of 2022. I just tested clubs and put what worked the best for me in the bag. Haven't played a ton with them yet, but so far it seems to be working well.

Agree Andy, they do look good and preformed very well for me as well at a fitting but the P790's just beat them on the numbers and they too are good on the eye. My opinion. The only thing that would have had me pick them over the P790's was if I had to blend.

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to seeing them played on the course. You mentioned in a previous video that you didn’t think it would be necessary to blend the set. Why did you change your mind? My concern would be that there would be a large gap between the tec and tec x depending where you stop one and start the other? Did you find that when testing these on the course? Is it easy to play the tec wedges around the green. My problem with game improvement irons is that the ball springs off the face when chipping around the green. Hard to get consistent distances. Currently I have narrowed down my next irons to the Cobra Forged Tec X and the Ping i525 power lofted. Really hope you can test the i525.

Have the forged tec one length in my long irons, the new ones do feel and sound bit better than the old version and look a lot better but both perform very well. Find the one length forged tec in long irons better than hybrids for some reason i struggle with hybrids i am working on it but for now i’ll stick with the forged tec. 👍

@@TheAverageGolfer you should but alot of people give it the one round to decide on it. you got to give it a few months of playing with them to really see if it benefits you or not. That is why it is so hard to watch reviews on one length because like the game of golf it takes months to adjust anything in your game for it to be somewhat comfortable.

I would take the X, especially the 4-6 iron that you mentioned, then the are scoring irons that I fell more comfortable shaping and the reg tec would be perfect. But...I can't seem to tell the difference of the 0211, Takomo, and other hollow body irons.

In terms of looks it s great to see that Cobra have toned down the excessive and large branding on the back of the clubs that marred previous Cobra irons. They could definitely tone it down more. Down at address they are marginally too big for eye, but that is very subjective. Personally if I wanted a hollow bodied iron I would probably go for the P770s or PXG Gen 5T, but I am not really a hollow bodied iron player

There’s really no reason to blend the set unless you are really finicky about the size of the short irons. I play off 2.8 and am gaming the full set of Tec X, 5-gap. Beautiful clubs, great performance. The caveat would be, I wouldn’t game the 4 iron at that loft. Too many easy to to hit hybrids to mess with that. If you like smallish heads and are a good ball striker, just get the forged Tec. But as Andy said, the X just gives you a bit more comfort looking down at address. I can curve the ball gently but the bias is toward a straight flight. You really have to make a terrible swing to get a terrible result. They don’t feel forged as we think of it traditionally, but they do sound and feel very good in a modern way. The lie angles are more upright than they ought to be (65* pw and gap??) so I had those two clubs bent 1 flat. I paid about $130 per club for these in mint/unplayed condition. That’s a steal in this market other than some of the DTC clubs.
