@@theclephane2914 The ideology of everyone getting along together was why some of the American public (the older population knew better) felt heartwarm about this commercial. After all, we were just coming off of the hippie "Peace and Love" era and our youth had already been brainwashed to hate it's cultural past and wanted a revolution of something different...in their eyes, something new, different and better. The results of that doctrine are now the results of that revolution, just look around. If you weren't born before the time of this commercial you wouldn't have a clue how much better off we were as a united culture and people in this country than we were afterwards. But I do agree, there was an external force (a group of people that were brought into the country to save them from Hi(t)ler) that became internal and got into our government and schools and ultimately created self destruction of our country and the West. @@sunnyhill8179 I understand your heartache, that your husband was in the war. My stepbrother was in the Vietnam war too. But you are missing the simple fact, this was just a commercial, that made people feel good and smile for a minute, there is nothing wrong with that. Plus I have hope in Jesus, he is always looking out for me & anyone who has him in their hearts. The world is a pretty horrible place today, but I find peace in Christ, I pray the same for you. REALLY thumbs-up if you're old enough to remember the original cut of A Charlie Brown Christmas that had the "your Coca-Cola bottler" inserts. That's why today's prints fade out before the end of the song.)

You're thinking of the revised version made as a single by The Hilltop Singers.

I had come home from Vietnam, just before Christmas, when I first saw this Coke commercial on TV! Fantastic! It was so heartwarming, after a year and half living like an animal! Now TV commercials are just about ambulance chasing attorneys and Viagra???

Always loved the kimono girl at 00:23 and wondered who she was. She'll probably be wrinkled by now, but in the eyes of 9-year-old me, she looked so sweet and merry, and her kimono was terrific. Can't rule out that was the starting point of my love affair with Japan and its language and culture, much to my Beijing-born wife's discontent :-) And as Christmas is approaching, HO-HO-HO! and Merry Christmas to you all.

I'll be turning 65 on December 12 -- and it still doesn't seem that long ago when I was watching this in the family room with two very special friends. One just turned 61 on July 29, and we're still like family to each other. The other would be having a birthday that might be on Christmas but is, likely, on another day and could be turning an age that could be as young as 67 or as old as 71 (long story), and I've lost track of him but think about him often and wonder how he's doing. It's hard to believe that "my girls" from those days when I volunteered at Fountain Square Girls Club when it was located on Shelby Street in Indianapolis are in their forties and fifties now. You wrote that it will be sad when everybody who remembers this is gone... Yet, it doesn't have to be something forgotten, because we can keep sharing the memories to keep it living, and there will be others in the generations to come who will fall in love with those stories and keep it and the message/music going with it going... www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1049906-The-Choir-On-The-Hill?rfrid=ainsleyjo

I thought I was the only one! For me, I think it's context. I wasn't born when the original Hilltop was made and aired. This one came around at the right time. :)

I was born in 1970 and by 77 when this came out, I would stop and watch this no matter what I was doing, whether I was playing or getting my ass kicked by my older brother or getting it whipped by my parents. It didn't matter, I was a badass little kid always getting into something back when. Funny how we just look back and laugh. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas...!!! ✌️

I have loved this song for the last 50 years. I wish that they would bring it back on TV once again.
