@@stevecassidyguitar I feel a twat for leaving that comment now. It's one of the toughest instruments to play live, I did the same thing, played at school and then picked it up again at music college when I was 28. It takes years to build up your lip muscles again. At 29 I'd been asked to join a reggae band, a Latin band and a 2 piece Baroque outfit with piano. I couldn't keep all three going but kept the reggae gig for 4 years. What the other lads in the band didn't understand is when your lips are knackered, that's it. There's not much you can do except do a bbbbbbbb sound to try and get the blood back in them again. The band sounded great Steve. If it was me I'd introduce the trumpet later in the set. Multi-instrumentslists are awesome. Hope to see you back on the Lamb soon. (not literally ya wee vegan) ❤️

Great set! Really enjoyed! It’s fun seeing you on a stage as opposed to your usual spot. Whose decision was it to use amp monitors on stage instead of in-ears? Was that your band’s decision or the venue? Just curious why you went with monitors when it’s so common to use in-ears these days. I suppose I would prefer amp monitors too - not that I’ve ever played guitar on a stage, but I’m pretty sure I want to hear the crowd around me and hear/feel my guitar from an amp.
@stevecassidyguitar
3 ай бұрын
Thank ya Marsha! 😃🙏 It was the organisers/venue who set up all the sound. There was around a dozen bands on that stage throughout the day, we were last on. To have our IEM's set up we would have needed to use our desk "log in", connect to Wifi, have our tablets connected for monitor mix and have a sound check, as our indoor sound would definitely need tweaked for outdoor. There just wasn't time for that as they needed a quick turnaround between bands. We didn't get a sound check at all, just a line check, and tweaked the monitor mix throughout. By about the 3rd song, my monitor mix was sounding great - for me 😜. You're right though, I much prefer the sound of my guitar through real monitors - way better vibes. But you can't beat the clarity and perfect mix of the IEM's - just the guitar always sound sub par unfortunately.
