Stopped drinking sugary drinks and started MCT and fasting. Whent from a 42 waist to a 32 waist in 6 months. I have more energy and I can think on the spot. This really does work and I am in better shape now than I was at 25 as a soldier. I am 40 now and feel like I can do pretty much anything ;)

Great that you mention coconut oil is superior for cooking, Thomas - it has a higher smoke point than MCT oil does, which means it will not cause scary things to happen in your frying pan that will set off the smoke detector and ruin your peace. MCT oil is useful because it is temperature stable and it will not turn back into a solid if you add it to a cold drink, so each has its uses, but of the 2 pure coconut oil is better for you. Unless you are prone to digestive woes from either of them, then they are not.

I think like most supplemental kind of things that depends on the person. I mean I take probiotics regularly and some people can't. Another thing that people don't account for is the fact that a lot of people don't have any idea how to diagnose themselves. They don't pay attention to their bodies and they mistake one thing for another. I don't feel any bloating from any of this stuff in fact when I do these kind of things these oils on a regular basis my gut feels more pliable if that makes any sense I don't feel as bloated or as heavy I guess. I mean I've never taken more than anyone has said to take, a tablespoon or two a day so I don't know what would happen if you overdid it but yeah just my opinion.

Hi Thomas! I wanted to begin by saying, “Thank You,” for sharing so many pieces and segments of fitness & nutrition knowledge to we, your viewers, and the general public. As an aspiring professional in the same field, learning from educated and successful professionals provides invaluable knowledge, confidence in pursuit for similar industry’s fluency & most importantly dynamic perspective. While I am currently researching this, can you provide any insight, methods or ‘steps’ to take for digestive maintenance while taking MCT oil/oil powder, Proteins and the like in order to lessen the less attractive by-products of said supplements? To be a little crass, I would hate to have to spend copious amounts of “alone-time” for fear of subjecting company to undesirable smells, etc. Thanks again for all you do. Wishing you and your family safety in the current climate in the California hills.

I have wondered if MCT oil raises LDL cholesterol and how it would compare to olive oil in terms of its effects on cholesterol. Diet is extremely important though and you need to find a good balance. I look at people saying they eat nothing but meat or nothing but veggies, like no you need both of those. The bad stuff is in processed food and preserved foods. You can be a vegan and eat muffins every night and be incredibly unhealthy, though muffins are delicious and it hurts me every time I have to walk away from them in the store. I still believe the Mediterranean diet is a very good one.

I want to know if my assumptions are correct. First, beginning keto is the time to be really strict with no cheat days to prevent the liver from backsliding. Second, even tiny bits of sugar or gluten will sabotage ones efforts in that beginning phase. Third, after the liver has gotten with the program one can relax and have the occasional peach or glob of ketchup. Am I thinking logically?

@@aprillittle595 caprilyic acid does not create an insulin or digestive response, so it is safe to use with IF. It can also help the cells utilize glucose without the need for insulin, according to other videos I have watched, which is interesting for those who are battling insulin resistance like myself. Still trying to figure it out for sure, no one really knows exactly if it breaks your fast or not, but you're safest with the shorter chains and caprylic acid seems to be the one that is utilized easiest by the brain and body for energy. Bulletproof Brain Octane is 100% caprylic acid and it makes me feel so good in too many ways to list. Hope this helps, like I said, still navigating it myself.

Not sure you really answered the question. If I am in Ketosis every day through my Ketogenic diet one day then fasting the next for 36 hours before resuming to my Ketogenic diet, shy would I need MCT specifically? I am still burning fat regardless and losing more fat on the days I fast than I do on my Keto eating days. My wife uses coconut cream and oil on the days We eat, which you stated MCT chains are within the cream and oil. So why the need for the MCT? Isn’t the goal overall body fat burning daily? Thanks...
