I have been requested by my sisters and other people to make more coconut soaps. I've started making soaps about 6 years now after watching a video from Mommypotamus making plain coconut soaps. Her techniques were simple and from then on I've been making all kinds of soaps also using the SoapCal website to calculate the amounts of oils and lye to use.
However, I've also thought about all the other soaps I've used from the store and they always leave a film texture on my skin which didn't leave a clean feeling. This coconut soap leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean. If you feel it dries your skin out, always follow with lotions which I will do one in the future.
The shampoo bar soap will definitely clean your hair, so if you just dyed your hair, don't use this bar soap. Unless you want to change the color of your hair. After using the shampoo bar, I usually rinse with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar with a few drops of essential oil to kill the harsh smell of the vinegar, and put it in a spray bottle. Spray and rinse your hair to leave it smooth and silky.
I know once you have tried it, you won't go back to store bought soaps.
A hui hou and Aloha Pumehana!
