My 87-year-old father passed away April of last year. My grandfather handed a farm down to him and he handed it down to me. That’s exactly right you can’t buy that kind of dirt cheap. We’ve been here since 1945 and not going anywhere.

Not a country music fan here...but it's growing on me. When I go through the radio station, I listen to a little of everything but rap. Some of the new country music I hear, sound just like an R&B song, it's crazy. I can't believe it. This is a real country song to me. In my 40's now and this type of music is starting to make more sense to me.
@Jesusfreak20466

@@Hughesburner The country now days isn't country music. Yes the artist or bands grew up in the country but don't live the life style like Cody Johnson, George Strait those two are real Texas cowboys and Cody Johnson also does stuff with the rodeo circuit. Justin Moore is another one that lives the life he sings about.

My dad bought 8 acres in ‘76, worked the land, I even rode the tractor down through town to cut it and he and my mom eventually built their final home there, built a large shop and even dug a bigger pond. The pond was his place of solace. It was where he and the grand kids would be out fishing all of the time or where he’d be out just feeding the fish from the pier. In November he was taken after five years of battling cancer. May 18th my fiance and I are due to be married on that pier. From all of the memories he and my mom created and eventually those created by everyone else who visited, it’s something you could never put a price on. This song resonates greatly and can’t help but tear up every time since I’ve heard it.

I said, I will never like anything country. However, moving to Texas from Honolulu, HI (Jan 2024)made me realize how beautiful country music is. I listened and realized every country song is like story telling. I am hooked. I love country music and am trying to learn country line dancing now. Lesson learned: Never say never.

This song brings back so many memories of my hometown. It was destroyed in a fire back in 2018. 85 people lost their lives and approximately 14,000 homes and businesses destroyed. Shortly afterwards there were several contractors and developers from out of the area trying to bribe kids with a $1,000 to convince their parents to sell their lots. Not too many people were sueded by them, and kept their property’s.
