Basketballs bounce a lot, but plastic balls don’t. Some objects are inherently bouncier than others. Why is that so? The answer lies in a property of the material which is known as the coefficient of restitution. The coefficient of restitution of a racquetball shall be different from the coefficient of restitution of a tennis ball.
