I learned that organizations behave in a certain way, not necessarily because it’s an efficient idea but because of external pressures (e.g. customer expectations or legal demands). In the maturity phase, the longer the product has been around, the more coercive pressures it will face. M Zaagman

This video demonstrates the power the customer can have on a product models. One factor of coercive isomorphism is how the customer has a say in what they are buying because if they don’t buy the product has to change for the customer in order to maintain demand. -marly walls

There are 3 types of isomorphism which are coercive, mimetic, and normative. It is interesting how for businesses they stress the importance of innovation but most companies in fear of losing customers stick to to what keeps their business afloat in regards to taking a risk or leap of faith .

I learned that there are three types of isomorphisms. Coercive isomorphism says that an organization behaves in a certain way not because it’s a good/efficient idea but because of external pressures.

I learned that coercive isomorphism is when we as consumers are so stuck in our habits that when a a new product is completely different than what the normal is we wont give it a chance. I liked the video game example, helped me understand coercive isomorphism better.

I learned that Coercive Isomorphism is basically "stick with what works". Even if a product can become better, if it does not fit the norm, customers will feel less inclined to purchase or invest, therefore a business will feel the need to play it safe. - Hunter Jensen

Coercive Isomorphism is when a company changes their plan of action because the public demands it. THis could either be good or bad depending on the situation.
