We've seen how T2 weighting can still be achieved with short TRs by using a small flip angle. However, in most gradient echo sequences TR is so short that we can't have a long enough TE to allow for T2 contrast to develop.
In this talk we look at the basic physics behind the stimulated echo and how that can be used to create T2 weighting. We then show how the stimulated echo, free induction decay curve or a combination of the two can be used to manipulate contrast in an image.
