Great, informative video. Thanks. Also, just adding that the torque spec for the coils is 9 ftpd or 108 inch pound and for the coil/plug cover its 7 ftpd or 84 inch pounds. Thanks again.

Awesome video, with lots of good tips and tricks for all those NSX owners that do like to do their own maintenance. Brilliant!

Probably preaching to the choir with most of my audience, but hey, if it helps anyone, then it was worth filming :D

Another well done video. I previously marked spark plug cylinder locations on a piece of paper but after bumping the bench once during a spark plug change and not knowing which was which anymore, I repurposed Amazon boxes as spark plug holders and drew on them for each car we own. Also, it seems a shame that we (as NSX owners) haven't developed a complete solution for water/moisture in the spark plug holes. I have the Davis Fab kit as well, and though it has certainly helped, I do still notice unwanted water there after car washes.

I considered getting something like a sectioned tray, but it's an infrequent enough job, I tend to just make-do. Agreed on waterproofing the coils/plugs. Someone with a spare valve cover and a 3D printer could probably make a better coil cover plate that could be more effectively gasketed. I always consider running a bead of light-duty RTV as "caulking" across the top of the coil cover, but it never seems worth the mess.

The coils you mention in the description are no longer available, do you happen to know if they are available somewhere else than amazon? I might need all six coils.

If you mean the OE coil packs, it seems MITA re-organized their site which outdated my link. I've fixed that. The aftermarket coils show available for me on Amazon when I click through, did you try to buy and get an out-of-stock on checkout? If none of the above work, you could also check with ATR aka "nsx-parts" or Science of Speed for OEM coils.

@@LapoftheWorld the reason why the coils show unavailable to me is that they do not deliver to Canada. I found similar coils on ebay for a similar price.

Do the coils require any modifications or they are a direct fit? I believe one of my rear bank coils took a turn for the worse today, after washing my car. I’ve found the same ones you’ve listed available in Canada.

See 23:03 or shortly thereafter for the necessary 'clearancing' you need to do to the corners near the bolt holes for the Legend coil packs to fit under the NSX coil covers.

@@LapoftheWorld thank you so much, I’m going to order a set of those for my car. The rears were very rusty when I removed them a couple weeks ago, I sanded all the rust off but I’m sure water also got inside if they were that bad outside.

@@Justbrakesauto Yeah, there's a resistance test you can do on the coils to see if they're in-spec. I've find though that they can pass that test while cold and still cause issues once they get hot. Best way to tell is still to get a known-good cool and move things around until you find the misfire. That or just clean house with new coils and be done with it.

I need the other two to behave themselves so I can get to it. The NSX is mostly there. The yellow car has a little work left, then I'll get stuck into the Datsun again. The short answer is it's a '75 280 that has been a long work-in-progress, lol.
