Quick tip on how to determine if you have any real silver coins. Hold the coins stacked up in your hand looking at the sides of all the coins. Non-silver coins will have a bit of copper coloring. Real silver will be totally silver with no copper. We use this method when coin roll hunting.

When slot machines used coins - even ten years ago or so, the half dollar machines were loaded with the 40% silver Kennedy's. I'd intentionally cash out often to scan through them. Amazing how many were still in circulation then. I'd estimate 1 out of 30 or 40 were silver clad.

For all of you who say that it's a 50 cent deficit because he put in 6 dollars.. You are the reason why mathematics are obligatory in school. He put in 5 dollars, and received 3.50 back. He has now 3.50 and has lost 1.50 dollars. Of those 3.50 he put in 1 dollar, so he has 2.50 dollars left. He wins 3 dollars. He has now 5.50 dollars, whereas he had 5 dollars to begin with. He made 50 cents. Can't believe I have to explain this

These are harder and harder to find, as it is considered gambling. If you're traveling cross country, try checking truck stops, or talk to other travelers. I've only played one of these in my life that had real money. If anyone is curious, if you tilt the machine, an alarm goes off. I found that out first hand, lol. Anyways Matt, I'm starting to like your videos.

idk. I don't know the mechanics of it, but there is a sensor, if set off, locks the prize door and sounds the alarm. I honestly don't know how sensitive the sensor is. If someone just happens to bump into it walking past it, I don't know what will happen. You can always try, just tell them it was an accident. I just thought of something though, it would funny if you had a strong enough magnet, you could drop a magnetic disc into the machine, then pull on it with your magnet, dragging coins with it.

Although it is gambling, it's still legal for all ages to use them in the UK and there's quite a lot of them in busy places. I only use the ones that accept 1p coins though 'cause I'm cheap like that and don't want to be throwing away whole pound coins or anything. I think the one I went to most recently must surely shut down soon as there was essentially me on a coin machine and some other person on a Deal or no Deal machine.

I used 10 dollars worth of quarters one time and I got 18 dollars back. I didn't put all the quarters in at once though. The most I would put in was 1.50 because once they stack on top of each other, you're pretty much screwed since the stacked quarters will stay on top and not push. That's the flaw I noticed in this video. There were too many stacked quarters with those 5 bucks worth, so in reality it probably only gave a 2 dollar push or a 3 dollar push. Cutting down on load out works a lot better. Took a lot of my time, but in the end it was worth it for an 8 dollar profit.

There is an easier way to tell if your coins are silver or not Matt! Simply hold them on their sides and you can SEE! Non silver coins have 2 colors, a copper color and silver. That's our newer coins only worth their value. But if it's ALL silver and you don't see any copper you've got aaaaaa WINNER!
@johnrobertson7583
10 жыл бұрын
The coins are nickel and copper, not silver and copper. So its inaccurate to use the word "silver" to describe the color of the metal, and by the same token, they are not copper colored, but actually 1/2 copper.

It's actually 1964 and before for dimes, quarters. Kennedy halves are actually 70% silver I believe before 1964 and from 1964 to 1971 they are 40%. An really easy trick to tell if coins contain silver, just look at the edge of the coin, if it doesn't have the brown copper color then it's silver. But not nickels, Jefferson nickels were 40% silver I think, during the WWII period(there is one specific year they were made like that) because of the need for nickel in guns and other equipment. An easy way to tell a silver nickel is to look for the mint mark over the monument on the coin.

If it was an actual gold coin, it would be worthwhile to spend a day getting it out. They are worth over $1000. Also it's a waste of time to look for actual silver quarters. Those were picked clean by the 1990s. The only time you find them are as 50 cent pieces, and that's extremely rare.
