What did you think about the time lapse, of the rust convertor drying?

Just saw your video after I did my 1965 square top cavalier Model 64 G ! I removed the evaporater without breaking the original line and freon! Elect. wired brush RUST and acetone wiped! Plugged a few pin holes with quick JB Weld ! Rustoleum self etching primer! Then bought on E-Bay original semi gloss white Hammerite early 1990s with glass flakes, it has been discontinued for years & no longer available in stores ) for a impregnable barrier against water dripping from the evaporator and rusting the galvanized steel bottom tub! Something the manufacturers should have done when they made these machines brand new! Also attached clear plastic tubing to drain hole counter balance. That also was a engineering design flaw ! Thanks for the video and buy " Mexican SUGAR Coke Cola in the bottle for your machine! "

I have the exact same machine. I restored it mechanically about 20 years ago. Works perfectly. It is about 80% as rough as yours before you started the series. Financially, is it worth a full exterior restoration? In other words, what is the value now vs with an exterior restoration?

Im sorry for such a late response. To me, it started to bother me that things were not restored. Next thing you know, it's a full restoration. To answer your question on value. In a money making stand point these machines are not valued high enough to make it worthwhile. However, from a consumer point of view. Having a restored machine to admire and show off to guest is worth it to me!

Hi, I’ve stopped my restoration on my cs-64 as I’m not sure if the insulation is aspestos, 1961 machine ?

Hello, based on the year. I would think it is. Just to be safe please wear a respirator and do it in a well ventilated area. I stupidly did neither. Don't be like me!

@@bpprojects6676 I think I’m just a bit concerned as my dads brother has aspestos poisoning and he only worked in an office

I completely understand! Maybe try Google. You may be able to find proper safety measures for handling asbestos and such.

It's more than likely has asbestos so stop work and I'll pick it up for no charge and you can have my thanks! Now what's your address I don't want you to be exposed to asbestos!
