My uncles would most likely died trying to take Japan…..
@QualityPen
16 күн бұрын
@@paulcrosby6953As opposed to the hundreds of thousands of uncles who were incinerated by the nukes or died from radiation? The nukes were not necessary. Japan was ready to conditionally surrender before they were dropped, and its generals were ready to unconditionally surrender if their army was destroyed in Manchuria by the USSR, which occurred right as the nuclear bombs were being dropped. Japan had intended to bring its army in Manchuria back to Japan and dig in, hoping the attrition it inflicted to the US forces would cause public opinion in the US to turn against the war. With the USSR joining the war on Japan and annihilating that army in a matter of weeks, this strategy became impossible and Japan lost any avenue to victory. These deliberations were all recorded at Japanese leadership meetings. In fact while the prevailing narrative is the nukes were what ended the war, the Japanese did not see them as very different from the normal carpet bombing campaign and they were not the top concern for Japan’s leading generals. That is to say, it’s possible and likely even without nukes Japan would have surrendered before an American landing on the Japanese mainland could have occurred. Of course, you’ll rarely see American historians acknowledging this information and this possibility- after all, that would mean the USA completely unnecessarily nuked two cities and killed hundreds of thousands of civilians including women and children… And we wouldn’t do that, we’re the good guys! (We are the good guys… Right??)

@greenjihad3390

The reason why the bombs were used were due to the Battle of Okinawa where U.S. troops encountered civilians willing to kill them despite being outgunned. If the U.S. invaded Japan it would have taken a terrible toll and likely been a phyrric victory.
@MD-md4th
16 күн бұрын
@@paulcrosby6953That’s a myth - the Japanese were ready to surrender with just a few conditions. They objected to “unconditional surrender” and if the US had accepted their reasonable conditions earlier, such as keeping the monarchy, they would have given up. Most of the major US military leaders were against using the bomb, including Leahy, King, MacArthur, and Halsey. They were overridden by the politicians and scientists. Even if Japan refused to surrender they could not have lasted long. The plan was a naval embargo on every Japanese island, cutting off ALL transportation and communication between the islands. The islands were not self-sufficient and conditions would have been unsustainable.

Indeed. Most people in the west doesn't understand that the so called Russian security council is effectively where the Russian political decisions happen. Its name is a sort of misleading historical leftover artifact. Shoigu also got to take over the official responsibility for the military industry, a job he was already effectively doing as he is good at it while Medvedev isn't. So, basically he got to drop the administrative duties for the SMO, which are massive, while being given the positions that he was essentially already doing the job of. So, he didn't get his retirement, but he got his workload cut down by at least half and a better official position.

The facts are a Light Colonel commanding an armoured battalion 30 years ago knows nothing about Russian Intelligence but what he's told. US UnIntelligence Agencies have never been able to penetrate Soviet or Russian governmental agencies without traitorous help. US morons weren't able to accurately assess Soviet military strength, economic activity, popular government support, or even forecast the impending collapse of the Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union. William Shakespeare: ”What a terrible era in which idiots govern the blind.” Anna Wiener (Uncanny Valley: A Memoir): “Certain unflattering truths: I had felt unassailable behind the walls of power. Society was shifting, and I felt safer inside the empire, inside the machine. It was preferable to be on the side that did the watching then the side being watched.” H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956): “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents… the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

As always, the eloquent, clear, incisive analysis is simply amazing, and the Lindsey Graham impression truly made my day. The two of you together, Judge and Colonel, are simply the best, and I thank you both!

Sen. Graham intemperate and bellicose as always. Col. Macgregor cautious and thoughtful as always - and correct re the critical need to establish a lasting peace and the atomic bombing of Japan which was unnecessary. But very few citizens are willing to look into this question.

Initially, it was clear that Ukraine would not be able to physically win this conflict, but the calculation of Washington's strategists was, that these young controlled "boys" in Kiev would unconditionally follow all instructions and use their country as a battering ram against Russia, along with the fact, that sanctions would be imposed (they were thought out in advance) and Russia would not it will stand and the unrest will begin - the population will become impoverished and Russia will fall apart (the territory rich in resources can be taken under control).

But everything went wrong - a patriotic rise began in Russia (because everyone understands who used ukarina as an expendable material) and the military-industrial complex brought the Russian economy to 5th place in the world in terms of GDP by PPP, and to 1st place in Europe in terms of growth rates in 2023...

Thx U for that interview with Coln McGregor. It is always refreshing to listen n learn from u guys on the truth. Seems the only way to have a respectable election in the states is to do away donations . every mouse is focusing on their cheese. Question s how much ? Need strong will to steer clear from the temptation.

I am impressed by the colonel transformation from a rabid supporter of israel to a humanitarian because of his integrity and big heart. After all his is a military commander and used to annihilating the enemy , except the enemy is usually military, but after seeing the massacre in Gaza and the intransigence of netanyahu and others, his humanity kicked in and called them for what they are . Congratulation Colonel for showing the world that you are a real human first and a military man second.

@@alenaself9520 Being an anti-semite is the same as being a nazi hater today. The whole world is *rightfully* anti-semetic at this time, just like it was *rightfully* anti-semetic for 4000 years before WW2. The Jews have simply done us the favor of reminding the human race why it is our ancestors never suffered them to gain power or become neighbors to them. Turns out they're land grabbing murderers whose insane religious fundamentalism makes them rivals and peers to Jihadists.

@@alenaself9520 The magic trick you've played for decades has been revealed. One country on earth in 2024 runs a concentration camp full of millions of imprisoned civilians; that country had a prison riot and is now mass murdering women and children in revenge. According to Saburō Ienaga "The Pacific War", Japan had been trying to surrender since at least January of 1945. Japanese "terms of surrender" were down to the personal safety of the emperor and immediate family before the atomic bombings. The US lies to itself about the start of the war as well. The "Flying Tigers" were dispatched before the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The US Navy was also interdicting petroleum shipments to Japan. Japan did not have significant iron, aluminum, or lumber shortages during the war. There were shortages of petroleum and food. As for the myth that the USSR declaring war on Japan frightening Japan into surrendering. That is nonsense. The Kwantung Army still had over a million men. There are two Russian connections. 1) The Russians had a spy in Tokyo who learned in advance that Japan was going to fight a naval war against the UK and the US instead of a land war against the USSR. 2) Prior to Russian declaring war on Japan in August of 1945, Japan was attempting to negotiate with the US via the Russians. The Soviets understandably wanted to be part of the occupying powers in the East, but were delaying as long as possible to enter the war. Winston Churchill was First Lord of the Admiralty during WW-I. He was PM during WW-II and as such wore mufti. The king routinely wore a military uniform.
