Col Tushar Joshi NSG Commando Living Off The Jungle was commissioned in The Kumaon Regiment and subsequently served in various Terrains and Environment before being posted to NSG the National Security Guards.
While being in Special Action Group, NSG, Col Tushar Joshi led the operation at Akshardham Temple, Gandhi Nagar Gujarat on 24 Sep 2002 wherein two terrorists killed 40 civilians and had taken 90 civilian hostages. Colonel then Major Tushar Joshi, killed the terrorists and rescued the hostages. While doing so , Col Tushar Joshi received gunshot injuries on neck. He was conferred with Gallantry award SENA MEDAL by the President of India on 15 Aug 2003.
Col Tushar Joshi, Sena Medal teneted his tenure in North East in Nagaland and Manipur as Company Commander and was instrumental in neutralising Naga Militants.
Col Tushar Joshi, Sena Medal later went on to Command his Kumaon Regiment Battalion in High Altitude area and in Hyderabad where his Battalion under his stewardship received Chief of Army Staff Commendation for the operations conducted in High Altitude in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir.
Col Tushar Joshi, Sena Medal has specialised in Counter Terrorist Operations and has undergone training with Marines in USA in Counter Terrorist Operations and has 30 long years of illustrious service behind him.
Col Tushar Joshi, Sena Medal teneted the appointments of staff and instructor in various Army establishments including Kumaon Regimental Centre. Colonel was posted as Commanding Officer of 2 Gujarat Battalion NCC and till recent past he was posted as Commanding Officer of 3 Maharashtra Battalion NCC from September 2020 till 31 Aug 2022. He was not let free, as he was pulled by Krystal Group of Companies, Mumbai as Vice President of the establishment.
