Man I am loving watching your Cold Chisel discovery. Have you given thought to having a listen to their studio work in chronological order? I think you will find a plethora of diversity and quality of music that unfolds with each studio album. Even if you did it off-line for your own benefit, although we would love to see your reaction to it, but I’m sure that you would gain 😊a marvellous insight into just how fucking fantastic this band is.

Chisel are obviously amazing live, but don't miss out on the studio versions because they are perfection. I love this song, glad you liked it too, great to hear your take on it . ❤

Cold Chisel has a live studio album called Swingshift. A brilliant cover of Knockin on Heaven's Door is on that and their best version of their song, One Long Day. Also, i believe their Circus Animals live concerts are also on youtube but if you can't find live versions, studio versions are always fine. You are right, Moss and Barnes, distract from how good their rhythm section is, and the piano player is a ridiculously underrated musician. Enjoy feeding the fish...it sounds great...and thanks!

Since music has been an important part of my life starting about five years old, it would be a really tough thing to do. Maybe I should talk about my experiences more when I do another Cold Chisel song. A whole lot more people watch those videos. I sure have a shitload of stories and I've actually shared some of them. I recently decided that it was ok for me to discuss some questionable things that happed 50 years ago. The FBI probably doesn't care much anymore and some of it was really funny.

Remember watching these guys at the Raffles Hotel in Perth in the early days of their career, pub rock at its best.

My older brother supported Cold Chisel at Raffles in a band called Belexes. He was the singer, back in around 1978 I think.

Yes there is a live one…. 1982 in Germany….within the whole concert which is nearly 2 hours long….. however each song has been time stamped so you only have to open the link and head straight to the comments section. Don’t worry about watching more than you were planning…I do that almost every day with Jimmy and Cold Chisel. They are that good! kzitem.info/news/bejne/25lpzXiCo6OLrIYsi=u2a1y_OCsrKnqkwB It also has the best live version of Forever Now too, and check out Letter for Alan 🎉🎉

Funny you say how ‘well produced it sounded’ chisel themselves say this is there worst produced album and we’re not happy with the producer😳🤷♂️, but I must admit I used to sing this song to my g/f in the morning when she would sleep over and she would give me breakfast 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️= SORRY to share that🤣🤣

That's correct and they said at the time the Live Tapes Volume 2, the Bombay rock one, that that's exactly how they wanted the album to sound. I guess they eventually got there album wise with East and Circus Animals whereby they played almost live without the production trickery. Reason why their live is so so good. Live Tapes Volume 1 is a prime example, done on the back of the huge 2011 tour and the release of the 2012 album. Fully recorded in one concert that was also simultaneously streamed to 150 cinema's 🎥 around the country. I was at one of the screenings.

Hi Greg, love that your discovering one of Australia’s great bands… their are 9 studio albums to choose from so plenty of songs and diversity to choose from….. maybe it’s a chance for you to delve more into the lesser known Cold Chisel tracks…. And as you can see they are pretty adept at handling most genres of music….. have fun discovering more…👍🇦🇺.

I think all the Chisel studio work is good but, as mentioned by everybody, if you can find a decent live version..... And yes, the whole band is very good and it is unfortunate that Don, Steve and Phil can get overlooked. There is a decent live version of this song from a 1982 (Rockpalast) concert in Germany. Worth watching in your own time. kzitem.info/news/bejne/mn5jnKeXqHqIqIY Some more of their live videos worth watching: "Janelle" from the 1983 Last Stand concert (same concert as "Wild Thing") kzitem.info/news/bejne/o5doqn6ZhGVhgm0 "Flame Trees" also from Last Stand kzitem.info/news/bejne/o6qjyHyarYFknHo "One Long Day" live 1978 on ABC TV (Australia) program "Rocturnal" kzitem.info/news/bejne/yZCDz4Zsq4Nhi6w Mind you, that's just for starters. Also from 1982 in Germany: Hounddog and Taipan Almost anything from Last Stand and Ringside.
