IF YOU HAVE A 1100 WATT MICROWAVE OR LESS THAN 1100, MICROWAVE FOR MORE THAN 5 INTERVALS. I have an 1100 watt microwave and I microwaved mine for six intervals and it was MEGA sticky. It didn't clump together at all. My cold porcelain, literally, went everywhere. It stuck to my hands, the counter surface etc. I kneaded it for 1 hour and it still didn't clump. It was MEGA sticky. I couldn't knead it at all because it was similar to a thick, sticky, and tacky liquid.

You needed to cook it a little longer until the clay does not stick to your spoon, or the bottom, and comes together as a ball.

If you make one batch that is overcooked, you can mix it with some that is done or a little more tacky to get a nice even texture. SO if your first attempt doesn't work, don't throw it out!! It can still be saved! I have also seen lots of recipes that use CORN FLOUR instead of corn starch...I don't know if the other ingredients are different...but you can indeed use corn flour (not regular baking flour) to make cold porcelain. Also for those asking what this is for...it's a clay that when dry actually has the appearance of porcelain. It doesn't have to be baked or fired, it just air dries and has a very smooth finish and is extremely tough when dry. Hope this helps!!

No idea what I did wrong. I did someone else's recipe which is identical except for theirs saying 1 Tbsp of baby oil opposed to your 2 tbsp. Theirs was a complete flop, then I tried yours and yours was a complete success (it's my first time ever for making this). I even took a gamble to colour half of the clay, which also was a perfect success. Thank you for sharing :)

1. It shouldn't crack 2. Its pretty easy to mold and stuff. 3. I don't really think you need any baby oil, but try vaseline. 4. Lemon juice is so it doesn't get moldy, so try using a some salt but make sure there isn't any lumps in the salt.

Microwave it more. There's no "rule" because wattages differ and preferred consistency is a personal choice. I keep a few batches on hand ranging from soft to firm. Regardless what you prefer to work with, microwaving it longer will firm it. I usually do three 30 second intervals with mine. It's quite a bit firmer than what her's looks like before kneading, but again, wattages differ as does preference in consistency. Experiment and have fun!!

@ashleycheung123 according to the video it said that you had to do 5 intervals, and microwave for 15 seconds each. Though this might vary on your microwave. Just stop microwaving once the mixture has grown clumps, but still has that liquid feeling to it when you mix it. All the information was in the video and in the description box... -_- :D

you spread on a flat surface so when you knead it, the clay won't stick to the surface your working on. kinda like spreading flour on a flat surface when you knead dough for bread :3

baby oil has lower level of viscosity than regular oils, which makes it so soft in the first place. if you can find a oil with similar viscosity then go for it. obviously dont use heavier oils like olive oil or canola or vegetable or whatever. but baby oil is a cheap low visc oil that you can find anywhere, thats why its being used. try regular oil if you want as an interesting experiement, but dont get your hopes up.
