It's been my favorite knife for about 10 years. Been on multiple military deployments with it. I love this knife.

Awesome review, very cool looking knife sharpening was informative. Needs a choil on that knife in a big way IMO. just wondering if toothy on all aus10 or just for this blade shape. Planning on picking up a 4max scout in aus10 and and maybe some others, your opinion would be appreciated. Keep making sharp things fun.

Aus10 does great with a polished edge as well, but since this recurve is so pronounced i figured it was good to have a lot of bite to help keep the material trapped in the recurve a little more, so its less likely to slip out, it would have been fine with a higher grt as well but its what i felt worked this time around

@@NeevesKnives thanks alot for the info, really appreciate it, mine are going to be drop point and tanto so I might try a mirror edge on them and see how it goes. Thanks for the words of wisdom.

So I had a rajah 3 a couple years ago before the GSM purchase of cold steel. I’m a huge cold steel fan. I used the rajah 3 at work as a tradesmen cutting many different materials with it and it preformed flawlessly every time. Like an idiot I sold it after about 6 months to further other knife purchases. So I just bought a new one from the new GSM line up and I might be crazy but it seems to be slightly scaled down in the width of the blade and length of the handle. I may be wrong because iv been using a rajah 2 for the last few months and it might just seem smaller but if anyone has any experience with an OG cold steel rajah 3 vs the new GSM production runs please tell me I’m crazy lol. Cheers from Canada eh 🍻🇨🇦🤘⚔️

Not crazy. Steel seems thinner but I like it better. Holds an edge better.

I have a video on how to fix the bevels to look the same, sometimes the grinds on a knife are off If it's not your angle

“Snag” opening pocket knives (“Emerson Wave” etc.) allow a better handle grip when deployed on a pocket edge after loose jacket pocket carry. Otherwise trying to open always risks a drop.

I feel like it’s a really good utility if you cut a lot of rope or zip ties, but especially rope or rope like materials, but you also need to open box’s or use a point. Cold steel has always had above average quality control and consistently comes with a really really sharp factory edge. I never like their clips though. But their clips are fine. There is just better clips out there. What people never talk about is how cold steel keeps their prices down for what you get. They are a fantastic value, pretty consistently.

I find both are pretty easy, tanto might take a bit longer because you have to sharpen the difference edges separately, howabout a recurve tanto 😆

You can but it would make the edge thick its definitely doable but the sharpened edge after would be rather thick behind the sharp edge bevel

So if I'm not mistaken you don't necessarily want to do the exact same thing to both edges? You want to pick a side work it more and then use the other side to basically clean up Burrs ?
@NeevesKnives
3 жыл бұрын
No you want to do the same thing on both sides and create a burr on both sides after getting the bevel done and a burr on both sides then you do a burr removal to reveal a nice crisp edge, watch some of my step by step videos or my videos explaining how to sharpen from my play list they will help alot
