I notice you left the lock pivot and blade stop pins in place. For those who do remove them, be careful not to mix them up. If you put the lock pivot in the blade stop position, it can cause vertical blade play, as the lock pivot pin is slightly smaller.

Knife Beater / Wife Beater - that's kind of a f---ed up name man. Disassembly was informative so you get a like. But wife beater, really?
@TheKnifeBeater

Sorry to hear you are offended John, certainly not my intention at all. When I came up with the name, my thought process about the "Beater" part was beater blades/knives, user knives that are relatively inexpensive to replace. I understand you have no idea what my actual moral character is like, but having grown up in a household full of domestic violence, my channel name is NOT a play on words.

My Code 4 came with oil dripping out of it and when I pressed the back lock to close it the blade dropped on my finger. A blood sacrifice to the knife god lol🩸 You are absolutely right about not using lubricant on it.

Love these disassembly videos, great job! The code 4 is a beast of a knife, too bad it scares people in my neck of the woods, I would love to be able to carry it more. Just a note, your sound was a bit wonky in this one, did you change your setup?

It really is a great knife. Kinda sucks about the sheeple by you BirdLaw. Did you notice the sound issues when I switched to the closeup view? If so, it's because I'm still trying to get the sound right when using that secondary camera. I have a mic on the way for that one, sorry about that. Thanks for watching.

Very good J. Thank you much, for doing this. I have never taken either of my Code 4 knives apart before. And, have never seen a tear-down video of one. It looks good in there. Did you by chance, measure those washers, while you had it apart?

Nice video Jay. I’ve taken my Endura apart. I’m still curious as to what makes a Triad lock that much better than anybody else’s backlock. I’ve been eyeing Cold Steel’s products and have wondered, is it stronger? Easier to deploy/engage? Anyway. Thanks for the demonstration!
@TheKnifeBeater

Honestly Steve, I don't know if the Cold Steel back lock is any stronger than Spyderco's. I think a lot of that hype is perception due to those lock strength test videos, where Cold Steel hangs a refrigerator from one of their knives.
@hyssean12

@@TheKnifeBeater are you kidding me? There is a stop pin in the cold steel lock design. A normal lock back just uses the rocker arm. A immovable stop pin is a lot stronger than the lock bar of a Spyderco. Read cold steels page on the tri ad lock to see why it is stronger.
@TheKnifeBeater

In theory Sean, I would agree that an immovable pin would be stronger. I myself haven't tested the two against each other, which is why "I don't know which is stronger". The Tri-ad lock is without a doubt insanely strong.

Wish I had this video when I first got a cold steel. I just started taking shit apart. Ended up flipping my two rigid pins and making the lock malfunction. Turns how no matter how close they look they are not the same.

Sorry to hear about the trouble with yours. At least you will be prepared for your next Cold Steel disassembly. You'll end up becoming a Tri-Ad lock master. thank you Nathan.
