I paid 40.00 for my 413e a couple of years ago, it's in good shape. Started right up. Thanks.

Nice find! From what I could see someone used to take good care of it as far as keeping the paint on the inside looking as clean as it is and I believe that foil was used to keep the grease spatter off the bottom while cooking with it. Whoever had it probably passed away and whoever inherited that person's stuff just thought of it as garbage and tossed it in the dump when they decided to sell what was left of the property. I know that sounds negative as hell but I've seen people swarm in like buzzards when someone they know passes on.

I inherited my 413E from my Uncle in 1978 and used it quite a while during my vagabond hippie days. It still works, but since I've been working so many years since college, I've had it stored in a closed for about 12 years. So, now it needs a little work. I'd suggest you order a new cap from either Coleman or on Ebay and a pump kit and replace that old leather seal in the pump assembly, try to maybe clean the rust off the burners with steel wool or something and it should last a long time. I love these as they can go anywhere even Mexico where its harder to get Butane cannisters. White gas or Coleman camp fuel is best in the long run, however. Cool to see that someone else has one of these older beauties. Can't stop them. I especially like the pop-down legs. Enjoy.

Glad you still have yours! I just had to take this out of the dump I couldn't see it being thrown away. I'm planning to restore it soon. Thanks for the tips.

@@TapiaOutdoors New snafu. Coleman doesn't carry all the parts-most are obsolete. So now what. There are kids all over, but they have plastic, NOT rubber seals. Yikes. Let me know if you find anything? Thx

I would start with the tank, replace that cap gasket for starters, pull the pump apart and service/replace the cup, clean the generator, and make sure the check valve is not sticking. Assuming no block in the manifold, should run like a champ!

another comment. before hanging the tank on the outside, flip the carry handle to the up position. that allows the tank to fully insert into the slots. Great find! it should last you many years.

Replace the fuel cap gasket and oil the pump cup. Put more air in the tank. Should be good to go. If it still doesn’t work great might need to disassemble and clean the carbon buildup in the generator.

I have one of these too. It's good to see that you used the flip bar to stabilize the lid when open. To make the lid flat, extend the bottom "feet" on both sides. I get a laugh when some think the bar is to hang towels. 🤣

Invest in a Coleman funnel, I was waiting for the fuel puddle around the filler to trim your eyebrows as you were lighting it.

Great find but just a suggestion, I would take apart the burner assembly and paint with with VHT header paint. It cleans it up and makes it run better.

The screw on the to of the gas is you can order the gasket from old Coleman parts and leave the cap screwed down take a screwdriver and take the screw out unscrew the cap , and with a blow torch burnout the old washer to the point you can use something to scrap out the old one and replace with a new one.

Use a #11 o-ring (9/16" id. x 3/4" od. @ 3/16" thick) to replace the old fuel cap seal. Also remember to never depressurize tank while it's still hot with this older fuel cap type and the light up instructions are embossed on the tank. Your priming pump need more oil (mineral oil) to keep seal working so it will properly pressurize.
