I reckon you could turn off Lane Assist in an Audi - I did with my Tiguan - with VCDS. You can set it to memorise on or off - in other words when you set it OFF in the settings it stays off even when re-starting the car and if you turn it back ON it stays on. At least that way you can choose.

I just can't get behind the 8Y. I have a 2018 8V.2 RS3 saloon, pre-WLTP regulations. It sounds amazing, drives like a beast and the looks I much prefer. The torque splitting diff is cool, but i'm not drifting my way to Tesco. Each to their own though, great video!

Totally agree. I've had six A3s, culminating in a 2017 S3 facelift saloon. The 8V is superior to the 8Y in pretty much every way IMO. Looks better inside and out, far more customisable as it was before Audi started this stupid simplified trim system. I find the exterior of the 8Y looks far too much like a big A1 and the S3/RS3 models in particular too "bodykitty" (that's a word now). The inside is frankly horrid. A switch instead of a gear selector (latter feels much better to use even with S-Tronic), the Virtual Cockpit layout was far better with a proper circular rev counter, none of the control issues you mentioned as it was before infernal touch-screens were introduced and even better quality materials by the looks of it. As above - each to their own and I hope you like it but it's not my cup of tea at all and a backwards step in my view.

I agree with a lot you’re saying,I’ve just put a 2018 s3 in for a rs3 had the s3 for 4 years and 70000 miles .Driving dynamics are massively better in the Rs3 compare to the s3.Suppose it depends what you want out of a car the Rs3 is definitely worth the difference to me.But the s3 was a good car if it wasn’t I’d have not kept it as long but it’s no comparison to the rs3.And personally I prefer the looks of the 8Y over the 8v especially the Rs version the 8v was just to plain for a rs car

it is insane that the ALREADY INSTALLED adaptive cruise is a subscription. either don't install it or make it a stock option if you don't want the additional variation. it may be acceptable in an economy car like a Renault or whatever but paying this amount of money and still having to pay MORE as a subscription is crazy.

Lovely car, congrats. One thing about specs, while it is easier to build, the main reason(so I've been told) is that they no longer let you pick individual options is the WLPT emissions testing system. They would have to test pretty much every possible spec configuration if you could pick individual options. Option packs makes it far simpler to run the tests! Pretty annoying tbh!🙄

I had a hatchback A3 2T. It was awesome. I always wanted an RS3 in the same body style but in the US, it has never happened.
