Wow, Nico, The Open Mind original!.Praise be! Rarer than hens teeth! I don’t have one and probably never will. I’m happy with the reissue but would love to own that one. I’ve been collecting psych since the mid 80s and never seen a cheap copy anywhere.

Hi Mark and thanks for your comment! Yeah, I actually never thought I'd get the original either, but in a weak moment I couldn't resist. I'm nonetheless happy even though I have to resist buying anymore records for a while :-) Take care! Nico

Hey Nico. Nice seeing you again. Taj Mahal Travellers I've hear of, but am unfamiliar with their music. I will check it out this week to see if I like it. Buffalo I like, I have the same reissue. Same goes for the reissue of Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera; I was holding out for an original, but they are both scarce and expensive. Black Cat Bones I was fortunate to score an original press of a few years back. T2 I also own an original of, it's one of my favorite albums. Color Humano I haven't heard of, sounds right up my alley though. Orang-utan is another one of my favorite reissues, love it! I have that live Gong as well, sounds great. Golden Earring's early records are solid. Toad I just picked up last year, so good and heavy. The Open Mind is creating a hole in my collection, you're fortunate to have that original, kudos! Thanks for sharing! Peace.

Hey David and thanks for your comment! Elmer Gantry's is so underrated in my opinion. One of the best British psych albums. The Guerssen reissue sounds as good as the original, so no need to shell out big bucks for an original...at least soundwise. Do check out Color Humano. If you like Buffalo and Orang-utan Color Humano is definitely for you. Take care! Nico

Hi Nico, great selection. T2 It’ll All Workout Fine in Boomland is a great album indeed. I got the two reissues i.e., Akarma and the same as yours Ethelion which indeed contains some bonus tracks from the BBC sessions that were intended to be on their next album they never had the chance to made. From the standpoint of sound quality I would go with the Akarma version, and Toad is a killer album that you have as OS Swiss Pressing🤩

I was not aware Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera was recently reissued. I would like to hear Golden Earring's version of Eight Miles High. I just listened to the Open Mind reissue. I'm thinking of doing a video for bill of Michigan Record Club.

That Guerssen reissue sounds as good as the original + it has an insert with pictures and bio of the band. No reason to spend big bucks for the original. I really dig Golden Earrings version of Eight Miles High. It's a blend of psych and prog which is right up my alley. I just heard about Bill's passing. So sad! He was a very kind and guy with lots of knowledge for psych, prog and krautrock. He will be missed!

Hi Nico. Catching up on KZitem after a long break and was happy to see that you uploaded some new videos. Some excellent albums as usual, love color humano, nice OG from toad. Just add to my wantlist Pugh’s Place which I will check out. You convinced me as well to look for a copy of Golden Earring Eight Miles High. I struggled with this band as the only album I have since ever is 2nde live which in my view is terrible. So never looked for something else, probably a mistake. Take care my friend. Olivier

Hey Olivier! I just saw your comment. I have had a long break from KZitem (again) myself. Pugh's Place is definitely worth seeking out. I'm not a big fan of Golden Earring myself, but the album Eight Miles High is a must have for me. Take care and have a great summer! Nico

Hey Nico. Still missing several of these, but those last few originals were exceptional. I don't care what others say, The Open Mind LP is phenomenal even if the tracks work around the same formula. Still some great grooves & UK flavors blending throughout.

Hey Derek! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yeah, Toad, The Ghost and The Open Mind are off the charts. I never thought I would show all three in an update video. Heck, I didn't even think I'd ever be able to buy The Open Mind original at all. I agree, it's a phenomenal album. It would be a 10 out of 10, for me, if it had Magic Potion on it. Take care! Nico

Ghost, Toad & Open Mind originals! 🔥🔥🤯. They all look to be in fantastic shape as well. I have Czar (UK 1970) reissue on Ethelion which sounds pretty good to my ears, although I don’t have an original to compare to. Great mix of original pressings and high quality reissues. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Hypnagogic State and thanks for stopping by! Yeah, those are in magnificent condition and definitely keepers. I have heard the Ethelion reissue of Czar and have compared it to my original Fontana. I think the Ethelion reissue sounds good. That label is a bit of hit and miss, but several of their titles sounds very close to the originals. Take care! Nico

@@NicoMalcolm I agree my friend. I have an original of the most important disc to me, Fraction: Moon Blood. Others sure, I'd love to have originals but when I can get a reissue for 1/10 the price or less, why not. But what a rush I got when I first realized I was the new owner of an original Moon Blood.

Just up to the first one Taj Mahal Travellers Live at Moderna (Sweden), listening via KZitem music for now, if the other suggestions are up to this one very impressive. I am a native English speaker and not sure how I would describe, it maybe something like: noise music, improvised long jam live, a bit eastern and 'Krautrockish' sort of.......... does not do the music justice, sorry best I could do to describe it, not easy describing in words. Long way around way of saying I think you do very well describing the music and your English vocabulary and word choice is better than a lot of native English speakers I have known / know .

Totally disagree with your assessment of your English. Your English is virtually flawless. Sure, you have an accent, but it isn’t so thick that a native English speaker would struggle to understand you. You’re totally fluent in English to my ears. As always, great album showings. Your collection always impresses.

Thanks Trevor for your kind comment and for stopping by! I really appreciate it. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to find the correct words to express and describe exactly what I want as a non native English speaker, especially on camera and on the spot, but I'm glad to hear that my English is sufficient 🙂 Take care! Nico
