the way josh apologized FOUR TIMES!! three time privately and once in public and every time johnny used it as a way to make more contents, literally milking the whole situation and saying (again and again and again) that josh was worse than colleen. ofc a victim doesn’t have to forgive the person who gave them trauma. but johnny had to drag this publicly and for months just for clout and attention. disgusting when you consider that he’s been doing the same things he’s been accusing josh of doing to him. i’m glad josh will have the chance to tell his story in his upcoming interview with swoop.

We never want to diminish a victim’s story and I completely understand where you’re coming from with the red flags vs believing a victim.. I’ve been through grooming, CSA and DV, and have been accused of lying about the DV (my ex was charged and convicted with 3 counts of assault, there was enough evidence to convince a judge, and he admitted to it thinking the police would be on his side 🤦🏻♀️). Anyway, there was something about Johnny that reminded me of my abusive ex but I couldn’t put my finger on it.. something just felt insincere and just wrong about him and his claims. I’m glad Swoop was able to set the record straight, and hope this deters more people like Johnny from pulling this kind of scam in future.

My alarm bells started ringing during H3H3's interview with all the victims and Johnny. I noticed what Adam was talking about when Johnny kept talking over them and talking SO much during the interview without letting the ACTUAL victims speak on their truth and how the experience made them feel, but I just thought they were close and behind closed doors agreed to let Johnny take the lead since he was the older one, but after watching Adam's video, it all makes sense now why my bells were ringing

Hey Britt! I’m just starting the video, but I have to say upfront: I KNOW you took heat for your stance on Johnny, and I think you deserve so much credit for clocking and calling out his deceptive behaviour before most people did. I honestly felt guilty for not feeling bad for Johnny after hearing his story, because I kept thinking, “Am I crazy, or is what he’s describing with Joshua just…not that big of a deal?”. I decided to just keep it to myself because I want to believe victims when they came forward, and everyone else was SO sympathetic toward him that I just assumed I wasn’t understanding what happened to him correctly. 💀 Groupthink is a powerful thing. It’s admirable that you managed to rise above it. This is why I’ve been subscribed to you for many years. ❤️✨

This isn’t related to Johnny but Joshua’s tweet about how he was abused by Colleen always stands out to me because you see the same pattern of belittling with Eric. I’ll never forget that podcast or vlog where Eric was genuinely trying to be vulnerable and open up about his mental state and internal struggle since having the twins and how he was researching if dads can go through postpartum depression. She IMMEDIATELY shot him down and was like “That’s not a real thing. How can you think that’s a real thing?! What do you know about postpartum depression?!” It was hard to watch. And that was ON CAMERA. I can’t imagine how she talks to him in person.

@@kristadowning4155I'm not really sure people wonder why all that much these days, I think it's been talked about a pretty fair amount that men are treated unfairly when it comes to talking about their feelings, because of the pressure society puts on them, and how that in turn conditions other people to treat mens feelings. Whoever is wondering why has their head in the sand about a lot more things than just the topic of why men are hesitant to open up emotionally.

I feel so fucking bad for Josh. I remember i think it was the H3 podcast i was watching where they played this clip from Josh and Colleens anniversary(or it may have been his birthday i dont recall) and Colleen "forgot" to give him a gift, so she busted out her damn ukelele and sang a bullshit "song" using the same chord progression as "toxic gossip train" called "joshuas blue eyes" that was such a nothingburger song just repeating that he has blue eyes and her own eyes are completely dead the whole time, she obviously doesnt give a shit and is smirking the whole time, knowing she was cheating and going to divorce him. It hurt my heart for him, he looked so uncomfortable and sad and was forced to sit through the while thing on camera to be humiliated on the internet. He clearly went through a lot, and johnnys story honestly confused tf out of me bc i couldnt figure out what he was even saying josh did other than "ghosting" him. Adam said something a while back about josh being a victim and never verified johnnys allegations toward josh, and josh even came out and made a statement in that one article, so i found it all really sus and confusing. Johnny is really sick for using Adam as a sheild and targeting a victim of abuse eho "fucked around and found out" the guy is obviously a sociopath. "If you doubt my story you doubt adams" and overtalking Becky and Oliver regarding their own experiences. This man is definitely a danger to the public, swoops doc was so much information at once and its easy to overlook but he definitely has his own gaggle of very obviously young people corralled in group chats in which he is clearly and deliberately a bad influence to. Johnnys family sounds super toxic too; they were joining in on goading Josh into this inappropriate relationship with this minor kid, and based on every DM weve seen from Josh, he realized the attachment was unhealthy and chose to distance himself; which was the right thing to do. Josh didnt deserve any of this for the last month. God bless Swoop and her team, ive always had a lot of respect for journalism and this was some fantastic work swoop deserves all the respect she receives online and then some. I didn't know much about Johnny's situation, but it seemed somehow separate from the rest. He also seemed to use strong language to describe Josh but there was never anything specific that he would point to. I saw Josh's posts and, coupled with his actions over the past years, it seemed like he genuinely was sorry, but Johnny didn't seem satisfied, which to me either meant something more concerning happened that he wasn't telling us, or he wanted to keep the situation going for some reason. Since I wasn't following his stories and posts at all, my moment of clarity about him came when he posted Trisha's photos on Twitter. That was bad enough, but when Swoop showed that preview of her interview with him in her 2nd video of this series, where she gently tried to make him see how f'ed up it was to post those videos - and he kept saying "yeah, but they backed my story, so" and kept resisting having to remove them. That alone doesn't mean he's not a victim himself, but it was a powerful indicator of someone who doesn't have empathy for others and is driven by more than his own desire to resolve his past and heal. Swoop did an amazing job, and I hope she continues because there are more players in this sick situation whose actions need to be brought to light. As for Josh, I feel for him. It looks like he was a troubled guy who wasn't prepared for the spotlight, but at the same time genuinely kind and, in his own way, wanting to help others. He didn't have the greatest boundaries and did what so many of us do - promised support to someone before really thinking whether he had the capacity to do so. He wasn't expecting that the person he promised to help (I imagine he meant something small) would instead leech onto him, not just alone but with his whole entire family, and guilt and gaslight him into doing a lot more than he had signed up for. Josh was very clearly abused and defamed by Johnny, and I look forward to hearing more of his story. This man has been through enough and deserves peace and happiness.

After trying to be supportive of Johnny I feel so dumb I believed him, Swoop really did an amazing job putting it together, the proof was there. Johnny made it seem as if these people were coming after him when he was pretty much placing himself into the situation to get noticed…and well he got his wish..he’s getting that attention now!!! He probably wishes now he didn’t want to be the “most important” all eyes on YOU JOHNNY! 💯

My partner and I watched Swoops video yesterday and it took us probably a good extra hour because we kept having to stop and let shit sink in, and also stop to yell at the TV and talk about wtf was happening. I cannot even BEGIN to imagine how hard this bs would be to process and go through first hand. I've been watching Swoop and Adam since 2019&2020 and I really do respect both of them. I also know (some of) Swoops story and am a survivor myself so watching Johnny sit there and gaslight her, victim blame, and say his story is worse, was infuriating. He is such an ignorant pos I can't believe I ever believed him or felt bad for him! I'm so so sad and angry for Adam and Swoop. This whole thing is so messed up I hate it and I'm not even involved.

Wasn’t Johnny over 18 the entire time? Am I stupid? I may have gotten it wrong since I originally saw his Swoop interview. I actually questioned why he as a perpetrator (sending Trish’s pics) he was being referenced as a credible witness and secondary victim. He started with dirty hands. I hate that people nowadays will accept any information from anyone who they consider supporting their beliefs. Thanks for all the hard work bringing everything together.

Thank you Britt for the really well-done video. Swoop went into such a brilliant deep dive and agreed my mouth was on the floor throughout the doc. I just re-watched some of the doc and it occurred to me that when he was talking about Trent he was really pushing down Oliver's story - when I think we can all agree Trent should 100% be in prison. His need to take over Adam, Oliver, and Becky to be the star (only using the word star as I believe that's what he thought) is awful especially while diminishing all their experiences which all had clear evidence to back up what they were saying unlike him and his need to destroy Josh for his own obsession I feel like you could really see it on the H3 Podcast where he was taking over the conversation and when he said something that Becky didn't agree with he jumped straight back in to try and correct himself (this is when I started getting a little wary of his situation). Also, his age as well kind of had me questioning a few things. Really enjoy all your videos as well.

This is a nicely done video. Ive watched a few of your vids and I like the one on one conversation feel without a bunch of edits. Im sticking around. 😂 Swoop is amazing at deep dives, I love how when she speaks for example "grooming" she goes to reputable sites like RAINN so everyone knows whats being discussed. She'll also do like a side bar to let people know where they can seek help. She really is amazing. I agree that people should definitely watch the entire video. I know its 4 hours, you still should. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. This is the first Swoop video where I ever saw actual anger, usually a petty university will come up to lighten the mood a bit. This isnt a criticism at all, its more of I can see the toll its taken on her emotionally, mentally & physically. I dont think any of this would have come out without her and her team.

I remember a few videos ago that some of us were trying to work out what Johnny's end game was seeing as he wasn't accepting Josh's apologies and we were saying that he should get some therapy so that he can move on. Must admit that I didn't see his end game being that he was trying to use this stuff as a launch pad to start a KZitem career especially as when he first started posting these things he was saying that he was just doing it for support seeing as he doesn't have a KZitem platform.

This development makes SO MUCH SENSE. I’m a victim of narcissists and middle aged - I’ve been having these conversations for decades and actually fell into the Colleen stuff a few years ago through her family vlogs because I found her so cartoonishly toxic. When the world finally started talking about her more honestly I followed the story and Johnny’s addition just caused a lot of cognitive dissonance for me. It made me uncomfortable because everything I had seen of her ex husband didn’t smell like what was being claimed and it made me question my very well toned understanding of abuse. I didn’t want to doubt a victim but I had a really hard time understanding what Josh’s motives were in using Johnny. Abusers are horrible and unjustified OF COURSE but they have logical things they are digging for when they are targeting someone. Johnny not only couldn’t gesture at what was being done to him - but seemed so gleeful to be in the conversation. Believe victims FOR SURE - but in the wake of more info I’m just so angry this guy would use the language of abuse to clout chase with no concern for who he hurt at every step.

I think the "clout" was just a by-product. His motivation first and foremost was to hurt Josh in any way he could. He said as much to Adam. This has always been about Josh for Johnny.

I was never into johnnys “victim story” since the beginning. I always saw him as someone who worked for Colleen and was a bullied victim of Korys. That’s it. He wasn’t anything more. When I vaguely heard that josh was apologizing I kinda researched why he had done so. Then I saw that it was for “ghosting” Johnny and leading him on which I thought would be over after that apology because that reason to be sooooo upset over is just petty and childish. Then I kept seeing here and there posts by Johnny continuously being vile towards Josh and josh apologizing over and over. I didn’t get it. Also any time Johnny did a video interview, I always got this smiling, proud, never turned down an opportunity to be in the spotlight attitude from him. Everyone else just spoke about their experience with Colleen in such a manner that made me feel like they were scared or ashamed. Adam always speaks about it in anger and wanting closure. Johnny is all smiles, nonchalantly throwing shade and actually got closure and an apology not only once but several times and yet he’s still acting like he had some trauma that was so awful and nothing could make it better. I think he’s probably just miserable and an opportunist… If anything he’s really bitter that he didn’t gain the fame he thought he would from the Ballingers and since his only interaction was mostly with Josh, he used him as his pawn to victimize himself conveniently.

I had seen Josh’s first apology to Johnny and I think the second one as well. I hadn’t followed what Johnny was saying enough to even know just how hard he kept going for Josh and the subsequent additional apologies. But from the parts I had heard I did think it was odd there wasn’t anything massively concrete against Josh. The crown and phone number wasn’t right but it didn’t seem to be all that nefarious, just bad judgement. But revisiting Josh’s apologies it makes so much sense what he was ACTUALLY admitting to and apologizing for and it definitely seems far closer to the truth than the contradictory stuff Johnny has been spewing.

@@Binstabih I also think that we have to remember the context too and that this wasn't 2023. This was more when our understanding of parasocial relationships wasn't what it is now. Content creators didn't know how to navigate these things and crossed a lot of lines without realizing the impact they may have. Many still aren't great... but it seems like a stretch to hold a situation from 2015 to the standards of 2023 when Josh wasn't doing anything abusive or intentionally malicious. As even Josh has said, he's made a lot of mistakes and wasn't perfect. But for him it seems like he has grown from it all and he's not trying to live a public life so none of this needed to be dragged into a huge public conversation. I think it's fine he is sharing his side in the interview he did with Swoop since Johnny dragged him into it all and he now needs to defend himself against the gross mischaracterization but if he hadn't Josh would still be living his quiet and not public life.

He has every trademark of the resentful, rejected subtype of stalker, it’s especially telling when he implies that what he wants is for Josh to “go on a call with him” why exactly? he seems completely unhinged, has no empathy to anybody and fully believes he is a victim for being ghosted. I think he loves accusing Josh of being a pedo because in his head this is still better than the truth which is that he wasn’t interested in him at all, he has to sooth himself by convincing himself that Josh liked him too,

Exactly. The only thing that has changed is that i now know the words they used when i described what was done during my SA that’s the only thing i even remember the movie that was playing when he r*pe me for the first time. And i really thank Swoop and you as well for pointing out that a victims will always be consistent. But what had me wanted to strangle him it’s when he said that SA was not as important as the way supposedly grooming he went through. I wanna also say that Adam he is way stronger than me he has bullied for years ever since he decided to come clean about the real dark side of that woman. People wouldnt listen to him and yet not once has he changed a single details. And that POS trying to get the most important story All the victims are equally important, from the start i never like Johnny he gave me predator’s vibe i hope im wrong but if victims come out i wont be surprised !

Honestly it's shocking how deep this went.. it sucks so much because it just casts aspersions onto everyone else, who aren't lying to get attention, n who are actually trying to just tell what happened to them. It makes me so angry he did this, 1 because I kept wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, and 2 because of how much he tried to involve himself in everyone's story especially Adam's, who seriously cant seem to catch a damn break. That is just such a scum thing to do.. I feel for Josh, he did everything right and because of Johnny it couldn't just be that he took accountability and apologized. Ik in my case, I didn't want to assume Johnny was lying because of the bs they were all already getting of people using every little thing to try and discredit them. It's so frustrating that he opened everyone else up to even the possibility to be scrutinized and attacked further. But I'm glad swoop brought this to light cause, Adam Becky Oliver Josh, they don't deserve this asshat leeching off of them to stroke his own ego, and play victim at someone else's expense. I mean I knew how he was going at Josh hard which I thought was alot especially wanting Josh in jail seemed catty and vindictive, whatever victims can be catty and vindictive, doesn't mean the accused has to put up with it, I figured that's between them. I believed Josh had been complacent with Colleen, n at times complicit. Still believe tht, however Johnny doin the same sh*t if not worse? Just how much he was twisting things, and how he was treating people behind the scene? Jfc just flipping wild to me he didn't think this would come out.

This whole thing has made me feel incredibly vindicated because form day one I could see right through him. From day 1 his story never made sense. He was always an adult in this situation, so to sit and claim the things he did and ALWAYS off the back of Adam’s stories. There are so many tell’s when someone is lying and to overplay something, to make a story so much more elaborate than the other stories going around and to shout the absolute loudest over all the other victims, that was Johnnys MO. It always seemed fake to me. His evidence was never evidence. I don’t understand why nobody else could see it. Swoop did. This is why we don’t just off the bat Believe all victims. We sit and we listen to the whole story from everyone else before we pass judgment. Because Josh has had his name dragged through the dirt and everyone just allowed it. (Besides the actual victims and that should of spoke volumes here). I hope he Sue’s.
