This weekend in college baseball action we were able to head over to Greenville, Nc to watch the ECU Pirates defend their home turf against the Charlotte 49ers. This game had it all, we were able to see some small ball, along with some late innings grandslams that though they were not in favor of the home team, were quite electric.
The environment at Clark LeClair Stadium is truly a special one, the citizens of Greenville along with the ECU faithful really do love this baseball team and that love is certainly palpable when you are in attendance. I had always heard playing at ECU was special, and after going there this fall for an exhibition game against Clemson, I was able to tour the facilities and I got it. It made sense why playing for ECU would be cool along with why it would be a special place to be. However, coming to an actual spring game was way different. There was a consistent murmur around the yard among the fans, with the unmistakable sounds of megaphones and cheers always coming from the Jungle. The only regret I have was missing out on Nachos that were in the Jungle.
This game had it all from the $6.95 Pirate dog to free Bojangles in the parking lot, we have all that and more on this week in college baseball!
