College Is Stupid Today we talk about one of the dumbest and biggest legal scams to ever exist...college Twitter | / kingoffailing Instagram | / koffsyrup_
One of the most fucked up part of the school system is that John D Rockefeller was one of the people who contributed to the school system we have today, These were his exact words " I don't want a generation of thinkers, I want a generation of workers." School is just fucked up, and most people don't even realize it. I've already decided I ain't gonna fuckin blow $100000 and 4 years of my life just for a piece of paper that doesn't even guarantee I'll get the job. At that point I'm just burning money that I already don't have.

My aunt and dad really wanted to push college onto me but I knew right away something wasn't right They failed to mention any of this to me and they say if you go to college you can have a better job. First of all you actually can get any kind of job with a simple diploma it's just hard but it's possible and I highly recommend voice acting Second, Most of college students don't pay their exact due until after retirement yes it takes them that long Third, You are not guaranteed a job when you get the degree know someone who has a 4 year degree and you think she has an amazing job? WRONG she still works at beginner jobs because they didn't accept her despite her degree The choice is yours but I would say don't even bother with college it is not as good or as nice as they adults claim and they don't guarantee you a good spot. It boils down to the company just liking you YES most get hired simply because they like the person Not to mention most adults fail to mention there are other things you can do besides College and Trade Schools And they say PizzaHut and food industries are terrible jobs but at least THEY SHOW YOU how to handle things before they put you to work

College can be worth it depending on your major, where you go, and the amount of debt you may be in. I chose to do nursing at a college in my home town and stay with my family which a lot of people don’t want to do. This helped me save so much money. I don’t have to worry about housing, food, and sometimes tuition for the year. Every year I’ve had to pay back about $5k-$7k which for the first two years my parents and I worked together to pay each year. The job I have is part time where I don’t have to work every week and the pay I get when working is enough for me to afford my books, gas, food when I want to go out, and splurge if I want to. Granted college is only good for certain people I wouldn’t have chosen this route if I was going to be paying $30k+ a year. Majors like nursing, law, welding, or computer science actually will get you a good job with good pay once you graduate. I don’t see the point in going to a college and getting in a ton of debt for a business or music degree.

It's more so that they give financial advice at college, along with connections with people in different industries. Engineering is probably the best major, alongside sports and health. There is not much of a need for college anymore though since we get beginner courses in high school for all this, and technical school is a time saver for those who want a job immediately. Learn in a way that works and never conform to peer pressure.

I think the worst part is that your parents will try to tell you that having debt is necessary just to convince you to waste more of your life in college. The one chracter who understands what’s it like to be overqualified and still has to work in a dead end job anyway is Walter white. He understands that his chemistry teacher job is not what he wanted and he could have made millions on stocks but instead he has to make ends meet so he was a chemistry teacher as a result.
@alexspencer5478

If you are in highschool please take this video with a grain of salt. The average debt at a public university is something like 10-20k, almost no one ever pays sticker price in tuition. You won’t be starving either, as that debt includes meal plans at most colleges. Also, to everyone saying “why don’t we learn useful things like taxes in school”, taxes are relatively simple, and if you’re really confused you can get help through apps or a professional. Learning how to think critically and analytically in English, history, math, physics etc. is a lot harder which is why school focuses on those subjects. Don’t let people who haven’t been to college or don’t understand how to make it work for them scare you away. If you want to go to college, have a game plan about what you want to do after, look for merit scholarships, and apply to universities that offer generous aid packages so you’re not saddled with debt.

It's a dreadful idea to be living in the same room as a random stranger, and it's definitely a good argument against going to college if you would be living on campus. I was recently in an emergency shelter which had shared rooms, and had a total of four successive roomates, only two of whom were sane. Of the sane ones, one of them only stayed for one night. Of the two crazy ones, both of them would randomly shout aggressively. One of them shouted at people who weren't there, and the other frequently shouted at me and the neighbors. I asked the management for another room, but it was some weeks before another room became available. I also applied for housing in a shelter where all of the rooms are single rooms. Although I was approved, I was also on the waiting list for four months before a room became available. Anybody who pursues a college degree should avoid being in a situtation in which they'd be sharing a room. They should look into what other housing options are available, and maybe avoid going to a college that's too far away to commute to. If they want to study something that isn't being taught nearby, it's probably best to see what online degrees are available. Most subjects can be taught online these days.

what makes things worse is that textbooks, things that are supposed to teach you don't even make sense.

I always look at collage as good escape plan in my pocket, I essentially focus on building up me and my skill set by working and having hobbies, then do the bare minimum in uni just so I can graduate one day w a degree and if I need it later on it’s there if not i ain’t lose much except a lot of time, energy and money
