I would say the whole problem with the fiasco was not the Color Opps, but your friend who botched it afterward. No licensed hair stylist would bleach your hair TWO times after you already just lifted the color. You did way more than you needed to because it had lifted plentyyy enough with just the Color Oops. She freaked out because she had to do highlights AND lowlights and didn't know how to deposit the dark color without saturating your entire head. Blame her and not the product!

I'm late to this party, but don't be afraid to really saturate the hair and do it twice if necessary. Oops works great when you get it on evenly. It even took out henna for me. Just don't bleach right afterwards because it sucks some of the moisture out of your hair. If you need to bleach, do some oil masks and wait a few days so your hair doesn't get fried.

I left on 45 minutes once I quickly put it in all over , then shampoo twice with warm water , then use a protein pack, rinse and let dry naturally then blow dry. I have dyed my hair different colors for years and after just one try it really lightened up from a dark reddish blaaa brown to a strawberry blonde

I think the colour looked quite nice after the remover! Just a Tip, don't do your own hair at home! Most top Salons have Academy's where you can pay a smaller price for a Colour Technician or Stylist to cut and colour your hair, who are at the end of their training (nearly qualified) and is supervised. Also combing the colour remover through and applying properly may not have left patches. (Colour OOps, colour b4 etc)

Just had to say this cuz I used to go to Cosmo school for redken and they do not put you out there when you are at the end of your training, each state differs in the amount of hours, most are 1500 total hours and you are in class for maybe 320 hours (2 months) before you're on the floor working on clients, because that's how you learn is on real people, also never ever ever comb color or color remover (or anything truthfully while your hair is wet) through your hair it causes breakage just take thinner sections to get thorough saturation 😊

@@mickaykay6593 I’m glad you confirmed that we shouldn’t comb. because I just used color oops and did not comb it through and wasn’t sure if I should. Oh no! Bleach definitely shouldn't have been used right after color oops. You can definitely reapply Color Oops or Color prep after your first use because it doesn't damage your hair with ammonia, peroxide or bleach. You could have toned with an ashy color (blond, light ash brown, ect.) to get out the brassy tones, and followed up with a green shampoo.

If you change colors again, just use more color oops. It wasn't evenly saturated which is why you were left with the circle of color and spots that still retained some of the original purple. Overall really great for your first go at it! Especially with that beautiful thick hair of yours.

Color oops only removes the artificial color pigment...........if it wasn't applied evenly then it wont lift it evenly......also you didn't need to bleach your hair 2 times after using it.....thats what really damaged your hair causing you to need it cut....the highlights and low lights also don't look right.....If you wanted your hair the ashy color you have at the end then doing the color oops and using a medium ash blonde over it should give you what you had at the end........and the damage would have been way less which would have allowed you to keep your long hair.

My hair was bright red and dark purple for the past three months. I’ve been craving a change and want to dye it green. Since purples and reds cancel out greens and blues I wanted to remove the color from my hair. (It’s just semi permanent dye but I go really long without washing my hair and my hair likes to hold onto the red no matter what). I used it once and then waited two days and then used it again and it was almost completely gone (just more reddish than my natural). It took about a week for the smell to go away but once it did everything was great. I know the box says you can dye the same day but I’m waiting a couple days before I do the green just because I washed it so many times.

I honestly like the cut but surely she could have saved more after all she was a professional. I do like the cut but I completely understand your reluctance to it. If you go in & tell a stylist a specific thing they don't always get it right. I've gotten mine cut shorter than I intended so girl I completely understand. I love the end result tho & it suits you. OMG your daughter is every spit of you😍. I came here bc I think I might use color oops. I plan on dying my hair purple but if it doesn't work out that's where the color pops comes in. Wish me luck I won't even need it bc I'll like the purple. I already dyed it purple twice with a temporary color. The first came out kind of tinted purple & like silver but it wasn't that noticeable the 2nd came out great but both have since washed out sooooo. I purchased a permanent purple but couldn't find the exact shade so on a whim got this & haven't used it yet bc I'm nervous I won't like it. So yea wish me luck guys 😊.

If she was doing highlight and low lights why did she put the lightener all over your head. Your hair color after the oops was very pretty on you

The bleach destroyed your hair the friend is incompetent. She did a terrible job sorry. Thats why she cut it. You need a good keratin protein mask . Put it in put a bag around it leave on over night or as long as you can. Dont shampoo for a few days at least let ur hair rest.

I tried oops on my dark Auburn hair and it definitely took me down to an Orange yellow because I'm naturally all Gray at this point. I realized that light color hair does not go with my skin tone at the age that I am so I ended up putting on another Box of my normal medium Reddish Brown and I ended up going back to the color that I loved.... My hair was dry for the 1st week or so but it seemed normal after that I didn't use the extra strength though and it worked fine for me. Your hair looks really cute that length I think it's really flattering the way you style that is well and this Brown is nice with your skin tone I am really drawn to reds & that auburn color looked very nice on you as well❣.....

I saw 40 volume developer on the table that would destroy ur hair after lifting it already. If she sued that shes not a good person. Your lucky ur hair didnt fall out. 5N N mean neutral not no color. It neutralizes brassy tones. % ash or Neutral would have been fine in your orange hair it would have turned it light brown and it would have been pretty too.

I tried color oops and I had a dark red color similar to the burgundy and it left my hair like a pink gold color so I did a dark blonde over it thinking just like you it would cover so my hair was like a dark blonde/pink color then I did highlights. The highlights pulled like a rose gold/blonde/pink color toned my hair and it looks like I intentionally made pink/purple/blonde hair. It doesn’t look horrible to keep right now. Definitely not what I want just like you but hopefully in the next few weeks I can do color oops again and that take out the dark blonde that’s left and dye it all blonde. Loved your video I think the end result is super cute! I know you didn’t wanna cut your hair I totally get it as I’m trying to grow mine out too but you can rock long or short hair!

I think your hair looks really nice! Pretty color! I just bought a box of this to use on my hair which I lighten, but on the web site, it says to use on darker hair only and not on blond hair, so I don't think I should use it. I wanted to wash away a lot of the color build up on it, but maybe I better not! Thank you so much for sharing, and I think your hair looks beautiful!

I like to use a demi permanent color after color oops. Using bleach is very harsh to the hair

I don’t understand why this product says BLEACH FREE yet it lightens my natural hair color!! My baby hairs are ORANGE and the rest is dark brassy orange. This product removes dark color but lightens your regular color! I dont know what to do!!!! My hair is awful
@catherinarodriguez1207

apparently it doesnt lighten your hair but it opens the hair follicle so that when u wash it it takes out all the color, that's why u have to wash it for so long
@CeriseHoodxxii

it doesn’t lighten your hair, at least it’s not supposed to. this can happen if you box dyed your hair dark because the developer in the dark dye turns your hair orange underneath that color. when you color removed it, that brassinees was revealed

Oh I hate that! Been through a couple chop jobs myself:/ don't have her do your hair again. My mom is going through letting her hair go natural and i am helping her. She has been soaking it in coconut oil and anti snap. Her hair is doing really great through the different processes. Best wishes you are a beautiful woman:)

After using the colour oops, I would have used Overtone's rose gold. It would compliment your skin colour, plus keep your hair healthy.

Your not supposed to bleach or perm before or after color opps. I made the same mistake years ago and had to get a pixie. Awful. But color opps is the perfect color lifter :) and it looks good I think. But if you use a dark color on the processed hair it will look a lot healthier.
