I have an 890r. Stock rims seem kinda delicate. I have some good size dings in them. And, I've also blown a seal. I'm not a crazy rider doing crazy things at high speed. Or, maybe I am? In any case, I don't think I've abused the bike at all. Still, I love it. It's been a ton of fun. I'm moving to CO in 2 weeks. Looking forward to some riding. Nice video!

I had the rim straightened at a shop and the guy said the alloy is actually really hard... the problem seems to be how wide they are. I'm curious how much street handling you can keep on a tube and narrower rim? These bikes work great as a canyon carvers I would hate to compromise that too much

@@edenstrang I totally agree about the canyon carving. I used to race WERA on an r6 and while this bike will never be a track bike it really does haul ass in the canyons. I have a friend with a T7 with pure dirt moto rims. I'll have to ask him how it handles in the canyons but at the moment he also has pure dirt tires on it which will suck on the street.

Good stuff. Looks like fun was had by all. A buddy and I plan on tackling it next year. I have a 2022 890 R and he has an AT. Should be fun.

It's a truly incredible route, you'll love it and the 890 is the perfect bike for it.

Nice one..We a couple of South Africans coming to do the Colorado BDR in July. Did u follow the official BDR track on this ride? Looks lot more interesting. 😈

The first bit is through Utah and Arizona, but I'm pretty sure the rest of it is the standard BDR. All the cool passes are on the route... watch the progress of the snow melt though, we had a very heavy winter in the states
