Brian, what I’ve done in past regarding the frozen ground and tent stakes. I keep a mapp gas torch with me, for ease of lighting up a fire..but I also heat the metal stake up a bit..not red hot but warm enough that it helps thaw out the surrounding ground. You’d be surprised how much easier they pound in the ground. Take care man.

Hi Brian What a beautiful location! I love the sound of the creek next to ur tent. I also love how fast you put the tent up for everyone, lol. To bad a person couldnt really go fast like that in real time. Make things go so much smoother and make time for more things to do in a days time. Hugs for Sierra! Have a great time but always Be safe, stay well and God bless

Found and enjoying your channel. I do a far bit of winter camping in Ontario Canada and i use a 8 inch spike for the stakes. I use a small sledge hammer to put them in and a vise grip to take them out. Just give the spike a tap ,then pull them out. Never had any problems with them.Thank you for your content.

I too had moved to canvas, a center pole marquee in fact . I had one the was 16' by 16' but then down sized to 12'x12'. I hunt out of and do general camping in the spring and fall. Summer I go light bike camping. I utilize the perimeter poles to tie my chuck box up. Two level shelfs and the center pole I put a rope run to hoist up my solar shower bad. There vertually no bending over or need to crouch around the tent any where, 6' perimeter . Set up my stove with a stainless steel water jacket on the side Cot on one side K-table at the other. I use 18th century style candle boxes and with the white Egyptian color of the tent gives more then adequate lighting through the night. If I do camp in it for the summer, I have a net that goes from one corner to the other all the way to the ground...just hook it up. I did order it with a roof flap which is a blessing in the summer as it provides the T-pee affect ventilation...it get quit cool !! The only prob I can see with your set up is that the chimney is directly over your tent. 2 things will happen rain will run down the stove pipe and sparks of any king will set you ablaze or just make holes. Side stove inserts are a lot safer and to set that flap on the down wind side (east usually) . There is nothing more enjoyable having the puppy along. I'm thinking of doing at least a year of camping myself.. Thanks for your continued post !! Give the puppy a hug for me .

8:27 , those compressed logs, last longer than Douglas fir or maple and don't create as much ash as PNW woods as i thought they would. since they are readily available at a farm store i plan on using them every winter trip i go out on.

Hey Brian-----big fan of your channel. I may get a small canvas tent in the future with a stove jack for winter camping. Was thinking of the 10 foot White Duck Regatta with the Winnerwell stove. Wanted to see if you have any small canvas tent & stove recommendations? White Duck has an 8 foot canvas but that doesn't have a stove jack option. Was hoping for something relatively light but canvas that doesn't hold onto condensation & that is light & easy & quick enough to setup myself. Thanks so much. Love the channel by the way!

I have the smallest tent from White Duck. The 8ft mini regatta. Mine has a stove jack. I bought it in 2020. Did you ask them? The tent is doing great in high winds and no condensation. I also bought the wind breaker for it, but never used it. Lol

@@medogandcatadventure, thanks so much for the info. I originally thought the 8 feet had a stove jack----then 1 of the youtube reviews I watched said it didn't. Great suggestion. Thx again.

1:09 SNOW SHOVEL... What I'm about to tell you will change your LIFE... Seriously. I used to live in the Mountains of New Mexico (US) 7000 feet high. One day I was "Trying" to clear my long driveway using a SHOVEL... This older man from next door walked up to me and handed me a Grass RAKE... I thought he was crazy... I declined his offer, thinking he was off his rocker... He said... "I bet I can clean faster this half of your driveway using my grass rake then you can using a shovel... (YOU have to have fresh snow to do this... not when someone has already driven over the snow... this will not work on packed down snow). He started "RAKING" my snow on one side of my driveway... I did the other side... I could SEE immediately that he was cleaning down clear to the DIRT!!! Needless to say... he won. I raked the freshly fallen snow... and it was FANTASTIC... My Back did not hurt at all... I have NOT Shoveled Snow since... I have had people stop and ask HOW I cleared my driveway so good... RAKE your SNOW... SAVE YOUR BACK and your heart... A lot of people have heart attacks shoveling snow!!! It is dangerous.
