Kudos for overpacking with other hikers in mind. I once forget extra water on a quick there and back hike to a certain destination. A couple I met there always packed extra for people like me, and we were all really glad we connected.

What a beautiful hike! I did chuckle over the hiker snob because it’s not the equipment that makes you a hiker, it’s getting on the trail that makes you a hiker! And I really appreciate when people carry first aid for fellow hikers! My heart goes out to Chelsea and Tyler for the loss of their dog. Hugs to them! As always, thank you for sharing your beautiful journey!

I can't believe that guy said that. I'm glad you guys took it in stride and I really like the point she brought up about egos and sports. As a relatively inexperienced hiker (that's also senstive) that probably would've hurt my feelings quite a bit. Being on hikes puts me in a almost psychedelic mind state and bravo to you guys for being able to overcome a weird comment like that.

I started being SLIGHTLY interested in hiking when you and the ladies did your hike. I did my first hike about a month ago, and I should've filmed it because it was content worthy? But I didn't think to. It was moderately strenuous, up Gros Piton in St Lucia. It was a personal success to myself because as we went up, people dropped off, not being able to continue. I made it all the way to the summit. The view was our reward. Absolutely worth it and I'll do others in the future. But I was inspired by you. Now I've got the hiking bug.

I overpack on day hikes too. I have given more first aid stuff away than I have used ( thankfully 😅 ). I sometimes get miffed with people who carry nothing and expect others to “rescue” them, but I’d rather be prepared. Beautiful hike, albeit crowded. Wildflower meadows are so amazing! We have similar situations with crowds some popular hikes in the Canadian Rockies. Colorado is beautiful, Utah and Wyoming too, hope to get back down there with our van soon. Thank you for sharing.

Such a beautiful hike!! For Kelsey and Tyler: research shows that the part of our brains that light up when we have children also light up when we have dogs. Long time subscriber, I love your channel and am so impressed by what you have accomplished! As an AT and PCT thru-hiker, I always get a kick out of people who pass judgement on other hikers because of gear. Whether you carry an ultra-light, or ultra heavy pack is personal choice. Cost, weight, brand, makes no difference! Light, expensive gear is nice, but not matter how light or expensive it is. It will not walk itself up the trail! I love and admire nice gear, the minute someone engages me from a critical point of view in regards to my gear or technique, it immediately tells me volumes about them! People criticize others because of their own insecurities. As the saying goes, “hike your own hike!”

I lost my pup Cherry a year ago as of Tuesday, Sept 20th. It was both sudden and slow at the same time. One night she was having a hard time breathing and I rushed her to the emergency vet where she stayed for 4 days receiving treatment for heart failure from a congential defect that, up until that point, had been in the early stages. I didn't think I would get to take her home, but I did and I got 4 more weeks of time with her which was such a wonderful gift. Every day was hard because I didn't know if it was her last, but the extra time helped me to further appreciate how lucky I was to have her. One day she looked at me as I begged her to eat just a bite of food after her not eating for days and I knew. I hope that Kelsie and Tyler give themselves space to mourn and celebrate their pup's life. It was obvious how loved their dog was and I am sure that he knew that everyday. I'm sending them all the good vibes and they are not alone.
