what a nice pair of pistols! I love how different they are. I love the look of customized and kit guns, they all come out so unique but never ugly!

As a filmmaker, I really appreciate the aging you did on the first gun you talked about. I've been looking at these kinds of repros as I've learned many of the original film sets that were built for Sergio Leone's first 3 westerns are still standing in the deserts of Spain, and that got me thinking how cool it would be to shoot a western on those sets and locations. Of course I would like the guns to look like they have miles on them, and your process achieves that perfectly. I've never been into revolvers, but this generation of handguns, as well as the open tops really have my interest. I can really appreciate the design and mechanics of them. They also look very cool.

The Walker on the left is the best one. I have a new Uberti and it is superb. I bought a spare cylinder and removed the bluing from it and used Renaissance Wax to protect it from rust.

Nice pair of Walkers. I bought my Walker from Dixie Gun Works as a walker kit. The barrel, frame and cylinder all came in white steel and the hammer and loading lever came with case hardened and the brass trigger guard is rough and the grips had to be sanded down to fit. I used the Birchwood Casey Plum Brown on the barrel and frame and left the cylinder white, I filed and sanded the trigger guard and Tru-Oil on the grips, it turned out really good. I really liked the results of the Birchwood Casey Plum Brown.

If you acquired these both for $400.00 you stole them. That's a hell of a deal for a pair of Walker Colts.

Great looking Walkers. I like the one that you refinished the best. Gives it a nice aged look that you see on a lot of the original Walkers that are still hanging around. I'm looking to purchase a Walker for my upcoming birthday and cant decide if I want to pick up the Cimarron Walker's Walker or get the kit and build my own....decisions.

rich105759 Cimarron offers an “original finish” that is really high quality. I’m staying away from those big horse pistols though. Biggest I’d go now is a 3rd model dragoon probably.

rich105759 I think Dixie gun world offers a walker kit for cheaper than anywhere else. You pay an extra $100 for Cimarron’s finish

I had 2 ASMs I bought them from Primitive Arms in Branson MO. New, for &100.00 each. I stripped the bluing with vinegar (except the cone area/chambers/cylinder bore). I reshaped the various geometry inaccuracies and reblued them, except for the cylinders. They were the ones with the Colt markings. I had fun with them. wore them out. The barrel key slot was stretched and so on. I got rid of them and replaced them with Authentic Colts. I now have three of them. Fun.

I have an ASM like the left one. Had it for decades. For target I shoot 40 grains volume FFFG plus 20 grains volume filler or wads. Heavy loads are 60 grains volume FFFG and a .454 roundball. Heavy load velocity exceeds 1000fps.

The Walker style flask is not very consistent. It functions by pushing the spout in to release powder. Sometimes it throws heavy charge sometimes light. I wouldn't use it.

colt walkers are actually .45 caliber. so six chambers in .45 colt work fine.

some of the conversion cylinders, mainly kirst konverters only chamber 5, the walls of the chambers are thicker. taylor and company own the patent to a 6 chamber cylinder, the chambers are slightly canted or something to allow for all 6 rounds to fit. i think the one i had chambered 6
