I have already finished my degree in computer science and later on, I need to use generating functions. I did not understand it very well in class at that time but thanks to you I was able to understand it and use it in a program.

Why the answer to the first problem with generating functions isn't (x^0+x^1+x^2)^5? She can choose 2 items.

Can you give an example where you calculate how to find the number of ways to make 52 cents? i.e. Making change calculations using the generating function

ACESTAR I do examples with change. Keep watching the playlist. I do the examples once you e learned enough to be able to do them.

@@SawFinMath Found it, thanks. I have an exam in 2 weeks on Combinatorics and the course covers catalan numbers, bell numbers and stirling numbers of the first and second kind, but it does not give any examples of applications. Would you be able to cover these topics if possible?

I think the answer to the last problem is 2x/(1 - 2x) The 1/(1 - 2x) = 1 + 2x + 4x2 + ... so you have to multiply by 2x to get: 2x + 4x2 + 8x3 + ... Right or wrong? Thanks

I got the same answer I don't understand why is it 1/(1-2x) and not 2x/(1-2x) otherwise we would have 1+2x+4x^2+...+(2x)^n
