this was so calming to watch. BFL is my absolute fave breed. they understand the struggle of going through life with tightly curled hair.

I just love watching you do all this prep. I am new to it all. I bought a Romney fleece, but I don't have combs or brushes yet.

Use a dog brush or your hands! For years I did everything with a set of 72 tpi hand cards cause that was all I could afford. You don't need fancy equipment, just get in there!

Very good tip about using the length of the hackle to make a longer roving. The BFL looks so lovely and fine. It will make up so nicely.

This is a really cool combination of techniques for fiber preparation! I have more than five pounds of wool locks that need to be combed. I have a box picker I’m using to remove VM. Did you hear about the fire at Paradise Fibers? They lost a lot of inventory. I’m going to film a video about how to help them in a little bit.

It's nice to see a relaxed combing session where it didn't matter where the but end or tip end was for the finished product. I would personally never remember which pass I was on. I might have to give combing a try.

Definitely try it. It makes lovely roving and you shouldn't let strict rules ruin the fun.

I love how you use your hackle🥰 To reduce my waste I card my leftover (waste) fiber. This also takes out the neps. I just did this pro with soft Shetland. Where did you get your BFL?

I purchased a ton of fleece from fusilier sheep in western Canada. They've apparently pre sold this year's fleeces but I might get a couple mules or north county Cheviot in the spring. I do comb my fibers a few times and then card the rest. I don't give up on anything lol.
