It’s sometimes a delicate dance as no matter what we do, we make some sort of impact! My goal is to bring true beauty as much as possible that is ephemeral and doesn’t linger in our environment for too long. And that when we leave, there is more here than when we came. We all do our best 🙂. Thank you for being here and leaving this wonderfully encouraging note! I’m so glad this wreath brought beauty to your day ❤️

Awe haha, thank you! The life on these is long because the idea is that we’re updating the shorter lived things as we go; but the plants stay happy for a long time! Nice thing is how cool out it is here this time of year so everything lasts so much longer than it would indoors.

Gorgeous!! Girl you did a great job ! We used to have weddings here at my gardens. I made 2 living wreaths to hang on each of my iron gates, I re-used the wire frames each yr..planted in top soil/moss. Usually begonias,coleus,impatience. This wreath was outstanding.

Ooh that’s a great question! The nice thing is that it is cool outdoors this time of year so the cuts last a long time; still I would hang it somewhere the afternoon sun can’t bake it!

So sad to see the native foam flower dug up and referred to as compostable 😳
@floristsonfarms
5 ай бұрын
So sorry - it’s the wreath mechanics I’m referring to as compostable which is in contrast to standard floristry practice of using plastic frames and floral foam which doesn’t biodegrade over time, creating microplastics. As you become familiar with my floristry, you’ll find that I always strive to find ways to make my designs as sustainably as possible which includes how I am sourcing my ingredients and what I can reuse afterwords over and over again. I forage carefully, never taking a lot, mindfully of erosion and soil stability, and always leaving growing things in place to regenerate the area. When this wreath is done, the foam flower plants will be planted in my garden or back in the forest. They actually transplant very well and that area of our woods where they are growing is literally carpeted with thousands of them. Sometimes it’s hard to be able to fit every single detail into a video and so much is left unsaid 😄 Anyways, please rest assured that I put a lot of thought into all of this, always, and I draw on my B.Sc. degree in Environmental Science to inform my actions.
