In late September 2019, I made my annual return to Gros Morne National Park in western Newfoundland - this time to conquer the Long Range Traverse. I could not have been more excited for another opportunity to see the epic almost-fjords with weather that promised to make the stars align. Thankfully all worked out and the journey remained as enlightening as last year's trek of the Northern Traverse.
With a bit of luck and a bit of planning, I was able to experience both a flawless sunset at Western Brook Pond as well as a wild Caribou roaming over the mountainous tundra environment.
This video should give you an idea of what the trek looks like as a solo backpacker, filmed over the course of the 3 days it took to complete.
