It’s so _wild_ Jimmy left us on Labor Day Weekend. Did you plan this??? ;) This song holds a lot of personal meaning for me, as does ‘The Coast of Marseille’.❤ And seeing Jimmy w/that thick ‘stache around his lip, long hair & beach scenes in the vid, makes it even more accurate, w/time’s shared w/the _love of my life._ I had the long, thick hair & lean body & he wasn’t much taller than me, w/such a great bod! So many wonderfully intimate beach days & nights between P-Town & then Montauk Point, the following Summer.... He always dedicated ‘Come Monday’ to me when he sang it. Sounding a bit like Jimmy, too...just a tad lower. Monday was the time we looked fwd to each week, when I would drive late Sun nite after work from Albany to P-Town, to spend the next 4 days together. Mon - Thurs...like blissful clockwork. Sometimes he’d substitute ‘Albany haze’, or ‘Provincetown haze’ for ‘brown LA haze’...& ‘Provincetown has worn me quite thin’, for CA...just to personalize it for us, w/a wink, when I was in the audience. ;) And at times, sub ‘Remember that night in Vermont’, for ‘Montana’... Where we sealed an _incredible_ 4 days of _intense love._ I thought my heart would _physically burst!_ 💗💓 So _incredibly full!_ I hear this song, & I’m transported back almost 35 yrs....wow...has it really been that long....? You _never, ever forget the true love of your life._ Where nothing & no one can come close to touching it. So you just hold it deep & warm, for those special beach sunrises🌅sunsets, reflective full moon rises🌕& moonless starry nights.🌚 Those 2 songs wrap it all up for me.❤💞💔The very best...& the haunting ache. W/O the regret of never knowing that depth. Endless thanks Jimmy. For the best & most intense memories, your stirring voice gives so many, I’m sure. Be in _Glorious_ bliss...❤✝🙌

A legend is gone. Everyone on the planet knows a Jimmy Buffett song. Very sad when my mother informed me of him passing. My mother was a huge fan of him. She is a parrot-head for sure and I can sing along every word to Margaritaville. One of her favorite singer/songwriters. His songs just make me wish of a laid back simple life on a Carribean Island without a worry in the world. The kind of music that puts a smile on one's face. Thank you for your timeless music Jimmy. I can see Margaritaville still being played 100 years from now at some ocean side tiki bar and that is something amazing. Will be missed by so many but definitely never forgotten. I played this for my 7 year old daughter one day in the car , she asked me to play it again when I got her a few days later ! She always sang it with me loud and proud ! She turned 30 years old this week and lives 227 miles away , we went to my grandsons baseball game and I remembered to bring the song with me ! We sang and laughed like we did over 20 years ago ! A classic song with my family !

I met Jimmy right after he recorded Come Monday. A friend of mine played on the album. He was just getting his start. I was attending a Recording School being held at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville back in 1974 where he recorded Come Monday. After his session and our class was over he came in and spoke with a few of us for a while. He told me I looked like an old room mate of his. We joked around and ask what we thought of Come Monday. I told him I liked it and I thought it ought to take off. He said yeah...I hope so...it did and the rest is history.

@MrRockabilly70. Funny, I forget about the good and only remember the bad of that decade. I hear a '70's song I love like this one, and feel the sadness of it. Summer is over, Labor Day weekend is here and it sounds like a burden to them. I remember hating junior high and high school along with the other bad stuff going on then and pray it never comes back. Just more fun and upbeat times come back and stay! Surfer music days, the twist days, Beatlemania times, and Elvis days. Happy, secure, energetic and exciting times I dream them up to be and feel sorry is gone forever.
